Was it? I didn't have it prepared, just saw nobody had made it the minute the whistle went which shocked me.

Anyway, eager to get talking about this one.

VDS
O'Shea Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Nani Fletcher Carrick Giggs
Berbatov Rooney

Is what I'd prefer, not sure if we should go 4-4-2 though.

Fletcher, Evra and Rooney should be certain starters.

I cant wait for this one.

VDS
Gaz
Rio
Vidic
Evra

Giggs
Fletch
Carrick
Valencia

Rooney
Owen

we will win 3-1

Giggs instead of Nani I think.

Assuming all fit! Let's batter these horrible dippers. Kick 'em while they're down.

2-0

Could have sworn they didn't have them last time we played them at Anfield and they beat us 2 - 1.

 , no Giggs?

We're big favourites to win the game. Liverpool have looked utter shite against every half decent side they've come up against this season. 2-0.

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: O'Shea
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Fletcher
CM: Carrick
LM: Giggs

CF: Rooney
CF: Berbatov

Subs: Foster, Neville, Evans, Scholes, Anderson, Nani, Owen

We'll lose 1-0

Gerrard and Torres out of United game
October 21, 2009
Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres will both be on the sidelines for Liverpool’s clash against Manchester United.
Gerrard and Torres both had scans this morning on their respective injuries and have been ruled out of the game against United on Sunday.
Torres, who has an abdominal strain, and Gerrard, who came off against Lyon before half-time complaining of a niggle in his groin, will both be out for up to 7 days.
A source at the club said: “Both Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard had scans in the morning and will miss the game against Manchester United however, should be available against Arsenal in the Carling Cup.
“If both do not recover in time, they might feature only against Fulham on 31st October at Craven Cottage.
“Glen Johnson didn’t need a scan on his injury. He was feeling much better than he was yesterday and will be okay for the game against Man United.”

What a prospect this one is. Part of me sees this as an opportunity to give them a hammering, but I'm also wary of the fact that a game at Anfield is never easy, and the pressure's probably been taken off them a little bit in that everyone expects United to steamroller them.

If we have Rooney, Fletch, Giggs and Evra, or at least three of them, I'm confident. 2-0 methinks.

Could have sworn they didn't have them last time we played them at Anfield and they beat us 2 - 1.

I am sure both played at some point, they are also missing alonso as well this year, and last season they wernt playing as shite as they are now

Just checked, Gerrard came on after 70 minutes but no Torres.

I think it's important not to underestimate them. It's all good saying 'lets twat them' but this will still be a very tough game and they have a point to prove, with or without Gerrard and Torres.

I'd go with

VDS
O'Shea-Rio-Vidic-Evra
Valencia-Anderson-Fletcher-Giggs
Berbatov-Rooney

Fletch-Carrick would probaly still be enough but it = crap football.

I reckon that we are going to play with 5 in midfield - Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson, Valencia and Giggs - and Rooney.

this wont be as easy as people apparently think, we havent dominated anyone, except for the second half at wigan. The scouse will have to get out of the slump sometime and when better than against us! I will be happy with a 1-0 O'Shea/Fletcher last min header tyvm

van der Sar

O'Shea
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Fletcher
Giggs

Rooney
Berbatov

SUBS: Kuszczak, Fabio, Evans, Nani, Anderson, Scholes, Owen.

-----------------------VDS------------------------

O'shea--------Rio---------------Vida------------Evra

Fletcher------Carrick----------Anderson---------Giggs

--------------Berba-----------Owen-----------------

I think with both Gerrard and Torres out we can afford to let Rooney rest on the bench for 60 mins.

lets make it 5 in a row for them

as has been said the only times we have outplayed are the two away European games and wigan away, and that was only the second half

I'd disagree..whenever Anderson has featured, we have played attractive football whenever he is paired alongside Fletch or Carrick. Games like Spurs this season, Citeh.. we were playing some great football, let down by some woeful defending (more individual errors rather than a result of a tactical error).

Carrick-Fletch will still be good enough, but it's not one I'm a fan of.

we might have played attractive football but at times we have been left wide open, and against city we were more efficient than anything, and once again the goals all came from set-pieces, these are our best option of killing off there title bid and winning back bragging rights IMO

play a midfield of Fletch-Carrick-Anderson-giggs and you get height for set pieces, attacking and passing ability, defensive ability
