Liverpool have 15 points from 30 possible in their past 10 league matches after that "amazing" start (9 from 9). That's a pace for 38 points over the final 25 matches if current form holds true. Yet again proving a start out of the gate isn't always a sign of how a season will unfold.

More likely a kind of revenge for having to sit with the scouts like all the previous England managers when he last came to Anfield instead of the executive box. He had some mateys in the media tweeting about the indignity of it all before halftime.
He won't be laughing when Sturridge has his quarterly injury the day before the world cup kicks off. After he finishes the prem season on 15+ goals. That's what one injury does to a glass player I'm afraid. One injury leads to another.
It's a laughable fact in itself that Sturridge is suddenly so important in the England scheme of things.

Reckon we need 7 points out of the Spurs, Cardiff, City and Chavs games. Do that and I'd be starting to get confident of a top 4 finish. Cardiff is a must win and I think we'll beat Spurs too.

5-6 points from it would still be a very good return. If we get more, I'd start thinking title challenge moreso than top 4 challenge.
A change in mindset is also needed from Rodgers when we play away. We've seen with Martinez what can be achieved when you're brave enough to take the game to the opposition when playing on their own patch. It's turning us Liverpool fans into 'dual-personality nutters'. We thrash a side at home one week, & suddenly we're dreaming of CL football next season. With some even talking of a title challenge. The next match, when we're away from home, we play like goblins on speed, & lose (deservedly) to the likes of Hull City.
As it stands, we've played United, Arsenal, Southampton, Everton, & Newcastle & taken just 5 points out of a possible 15 from those aforementioned sides. & at no stage in any of those matches did we look to be in a position of control. For me, that's a big worry, & it's the reason why I think, at this moment in time, we don't have what it takes to break back into the top 4. Hope the manager & team can prove me wrong.

More than six points means taking points from the two most difficult away grounds in the league.
And top teams away is definitely our most likely points drop this season. Taking points there, besides also making sure competitors drop valuable points at home, would be a major statement of intent.
Of those games, only Soton and Manchester have been at home. We failed against soton granted (and equally so at Hull), but other than that I am quite content to be drawing away from home against Everton and Newcastle. I don't think losing to Arsenal away is something to be crowing about.
And what's more important, we've recovered well every time. I don't think it's inconsistency. I think it's actually showing a very level form curve for a team well on track for 75+ points.
Not quite good enough to take points against the best away from home, but good enough, and stable enough, to take home the points needed in less demanding fixtures. Given that we don't have the best squad in the league, I think that shows a positive reflection of what Rodgers is getting out of his players.
