Liverpool

Yeah, it's like one of those grabbing claw thingies at the seaside.

51 goals in the last 16 games apparently. Unreal.

Out of this world. When you consider a stat like that and then read and listen to people write the team off as not good enough for the title you can become bemused. One of Liverpool's best weapons this season has been other people's low opinion of them in relation to winning the league or even being up there by the spring.

Scoring a hatfull is all well and good but we need to beat city and chelsea who did well against our attack the last time we met. With a back 4 of Agger Skrtel Johnson and Flanagan I think we can be exposed a bit too easily. It's been a great season but i think the league is a step too far.

Can you take Barton with you, please?

It's funny,

when they didn't expected it, they actualy played well. And the general note seems that they keep their head down and stay focused, instead of thinking this year is their year. It's interetsing how this pan as the seasons closed.

My brother, who is as neutral as they come in football says Liverpool deserves to win the league based on the football they have been playing all season long.

For a neutral, Pool winning the league would be the best thing.

Play superb football.
Win built on tactics and style with current players, not built on pure cash.
British Manager chosen based on talent and given the time to implement his ideas.
Gives hope to other clubs that buying a title isnt the only way.

From a attacking point of view yes, as a whole though, I think City or Chelsea have looked a touch more solid. Defending is just as important.

They're acting majestically well, but I don't think they'll win it.

The stars have aligned for them this season and I doubt they'll sustain this form into next season and beyond.

Bugger. If Liverpool win they're on to 19 and reclaim the proverbial perch what with 2 more European Cups. My god it's enough punishment watching this season but not this too. Pls let the Special One derail their season... :(:(:(

Why not, when people were saying that earlier into the season, we tried to tell you've we been in top 4 form since January, its not something that just mysteriously happened, there is no reason why even if we don't win the league this season we won't be challenging for the title in the near future.

23 year of abject failure and they're all coming out of the woodwork on social media. I've been bombarded with abuse since last Sunday. Thinking of doing a scouse cull on my facebook friends list.

What constitutes abject failure? Coz there's a lot of teams who haven't won European, Uefa and FA Cups in the last 23 years. Not as good as some but certainly not abject...

If United currently residing in 7th place in the table (where Liverpool finished last season) is considered abject failure in their eyes, then their team going 23 years without a title and winning only 1 measly trophy in the last 8 years is categorically and unquestionably abject...

So 8 years rather than 23. Winning ol' big ears is pretty much the zenith for any club.

When players like Salah, Willian, Mkhitaryan and Costa look good it gives me confidence that Rodgers knows what he's doing in the market if he's given more than £10m to spend.

This ride is amazing. Whether we win the league or not this has been an absolutely amazing season of football. 6 again.

Didn't this exact thing happen in 2009 though? You ran United a close second for the league, played very well, and it was the start of a "new dawn". There's no way we can't keep this up lads, etc etc. Then you promptly collapsed and returned to old ways for the next four seasons.

82 goals now for Liverpool this season? Think they'll beat Chelsea's record.

city or chelsea will win the league. Liverpool have done amazingly, probably better than Rodgers himself believed. But...even with all this great football...they will probably be trophyless again...some consolation in that...

I'll be happy with CL and building to challenge next year. This is more than anyone hoped for.

I think they'll end up at around 105 goals or so. Incredible scoring rate in the second half of the season. As far as I can remember it took them a while to get their goal tally up. A lot of 1-0 wins early on.

As a United supported living and working in Liverpool, I doubt there's anyone who hopes they fail to win the league more than I do but I can't help but feel this year is their year. They are on fire and their remaining fixtures seem very favorable. I am mentally preparing for the worst. I feel the best course of action in the event they do win the title is to simply reply to the taunts of their supporters with praise of the way they won it. I can only hope my praise would shock them enough to STFU.
