Don't blame them for acting modest. This is our territory after all.
I want the title. I'll be slightly disappointed. This season will still have been a complete success even if we don't win it.
57 in our last 17 games.
If you lose it on the last kick of the season you'll be more than slightly disappointed... Obviously been a successful season... Just hope something happens that stops you lot from playing as well as this again next year.

It pains me to say that I have reached that stage. Would rather lose to City than do Pool any favours.
I'm starting to think they could win the thing. Beat Chelsea and City and they will be favourites.

I called them winning the title six or so weeks ago. I based this on watching how well they play as a team. If they do it will be well deserved.

no, I would agree with you. You will strengthen in summer (defense is where you need to do the work) and probably be right up there again next season. Although I thought you would do pretty well this season, I think Liverpool is the team that has surprised the most in terms of the consistent good football you have played.
Very true but I think we have a batch of young players coming through that will ensure that doesn't happen. Also think Rodgers simply 'gets' the Pl more than Benitez did, the way we've played this season proves that its very reminiscent of United in their prime, Benitez at time could be too cautious, I think Rodgers understands that it isn't necessarily the most organized or defensively astute team that wins the league, Benitez at times could overcomplicate things even against the lower placed team.

To be fair, wrong as it may be I kind of enjoy watching them play this season. They remind me of us when we were in our prime - fearless attacking play, and scoring for fun. They're actually a great team to watch.
This season can definitely be a stepping stone, but it's not certain. Next season you'll have Champions League on your plate, which will be a new experience for most of the team, certainly together. You'll probably be adding to the squad, which could help - but also disrupt what looks like excellent chemistry. Chelsea, City and other teams can also improve and maybe teams will find a way to play against you. If you don't seize the day, you may not get a second chance.
I must be one of the only ones who'd arguably rather see them win it than City. They've been superb this season and it'd demonstrate a team shocking everyone from 7th to 1st in one season with a manager playing great football without spending a ridiculous amount. Admittedly the sight of Suarez parading the PL isn't exactly enticing, but take that out and I wouldn't begrudge them it this year.

it's a parallel situation with us in 1991/2. Exactly like Liverpool, after countless years in the wilderness, we mounted the most serious of title winning campaigns, only to implode in the last 4 games with nerves and injuries, Leeds eventually winning the title.
I remember thinking we had blown our chance to break the hoodoo, that our moment had passed. Many agreed with me. However, SAF used the experience to repeat the campaign the following season and with the inspired addition of King Cantona, led us to his first and most important trophy win for us, the 1992/93 Premier League Championship.
If Liverpool fail to win this year, I have no doubt they will remain very competitive in coming seasons. CL football will attract some class talent this summer and Rodgers has built an ideology, infrastructure and momentum. Losing the league this year will not be a disaster in any way for Liverpool, indeed a top 4 finish can only be viewed as major progress and over delivery vs pre season expectation.
Personally I would hate for them to win, I still consider Liverpool our greatest rival and really don't want them to break their famine any time soon. It will spark the beginnings of a new renaissance. But if they do win this year, its because they deserve too. And if they don't, they have already delivered and proven enough for this year to be a major spring board.

Unbeaten this year, have the best form in the Prem, the stats don't support your argument that it's a certainty.
QPR had a lot of money, didn't stop them going down.

1. They'll tail off in the New Year - best form since New Year
2. If Suarez stops scoring they're screwed - Sturridge stepped up brilliantly
3. Can't compete with City and Chelsea - out scored both and very similar points trajectory

We've only conceded 12 at home this season. That jumps to 26 away.

Liverpool can put the squeeze on Chwlsea tonight and bob back up above City with a win. The way Liverpool and City's GD is goin Liverpool need to try to win big. Obviously 3 points is vital but a few goals keeps up the pressure.

FFP doesnt apply to liverpool for next years CL which is a complete joke and a major flaw in the regulations.
Yeah, it's a joke. They should probably rewrite the original rules now that Liverpool have qualified as it's a complete joke.

If UEFA judge that Liverpool have broken the FFP rules its a bit late to be taking action after the CL season is over.

Can't see the problem. The rules have been the same from the start and clubs have been working towards those specific timeframes. If we can't steady the ship this year, and I am confident that we have already done so, then we can be punished the season after next . Of course you will hope that we'll no longer be in it then at which point it will hardly matter.
Well you'll get a dose of CL money which will be enough to say that 'we're moving in the right direction'. I don't have a problem with Liverpool's owners injecting some cash to play catch up rather with the ridiculous cash transfusions of City, Chelsea and PSG.
