"We're going to smash them (Crystal Palace)"
He's gonna have to make one now.
Teams will know how to beat them now and Liverpool will need to be ready to change it up
No team can defend like Chelsea for 90 minutes.

If you lived in Liverpool you'd have seen how buzzing the city was after the Newcastle game.
No team can defend like Chelsea for 90 minutes.
Liverpool had a brilliant league campaign. That's a given. But what their fans don't seem to realise is that the type of momentum they built over the last couple of months was extremely rare. That run of wins, 12 on the bounce was it? That is not something likely to be repeated next season. Especially if they're juggling other games in Europe/FA Cup.
It's going to be tougher for them next year to win the league. That's a given imo. Therefore this year was a golden opportunity that was, essentially, missed.
United were top with just 4 games to go that season, & they surprisingly lost at home to Nottingham Forest, which was followed by a 1-0 away defeat to West Ham, then we finished them off with a 2-0 win at Anfield in the next match.
I remember thinking to myself that they'd blown the best chance they'd had in 25 years of finally winning the title, & that it could be another 25 years before they have such an opportunity again.
Just shows what I know doesn't it ?
Of course hindsight makes this easy to say but there are so many differences between that Utd side and this Liverpool one. The Utd side was led by Ferguson. It had the best keeper in the world with a solid back 4 in front of him. The missing ingredient was Cantona.
Perhaps Suarez is your Cantona and you will do it differently, sorting out the back 5 instead. But either way, this season was a glorious opportunity for you.
Ladies and gentlemen please welcome
The same Ferguson that was a failure (barring a small European trophy) and was given the same treatment as #MoyeOut at the time?

12 wins out of last 14 with a variety of performances, formations and opposition tactics. The one thing that was so significant in those games was the versatility of the team and how the shape changed to deal with different challenges. The defence was obviously a weakness and nothing to do with a lack of alternative ways of playing. Of those 14 games only 1 team stopped Liverpool but to use that game rather than the other 13 to draw a conclusion is simplistic in the extreme.no plan B was Liverpool's problem.
Anybody else as amused as me by the "we are all delighted with the way the season panned out" propoganda now pouring out of Merseyside. My favourite so far being the below... if they tell themselves it's all OK enough times, it might become true!
The Yellow one? I saw pictures of it today. Have to admit, it looks quite nice. Our new away kits look boss. Brad Jones has looked bad and Aspas has looked a fecking world beater (maybe). Ibe and Smith linking nicely.
Great run by Smith.
You need to work on depth now as well.
The Utd squad of 92 was one player away from domination. Liverpool aren't close to the same level.Of course it was a glorious opportunity, the best one since we won the title in 1990. But that's not to say there won't be others in the future. We've hit 80 or more points 4 times over the past 13 seasons, & finished runners-up 3 times. So it's not totally beyond the realms of possibility that we'll eventually accumulate more points than the other title challengers over a full season. & I'd argue that this current Liverpool side is more advanced than the United side of 92. But of course, none of us never knew what impact the 'class of 92' was going to have on the future of Manchester United, just in the same way we don't know if Rodgers can progress us to the point of being England's best.
I don't see Liverpool missing many, if any, of those players listed.
Out of interest though how has Cissokho performed, and would Moses be worthy of a permanent deal?
Edit: I don't mean Agger and Lucas in the above.
I heard some good things about Suso on his loan spell. I saw one match where he looked alright too. Why would Rodgers not want to keep him?
I don't want to see him leave either. Brendan might be trying to bring in money or he might feel we're overloaded in his position.

That's exactly what Valencia fans said about the guy. Even a makeshift failure left back in Andres Guardado benched Cissohko there. Apparently he costed Lyon 15 million euroCissokho has been bang average. He's solid defensively, but offers absolutely nothing going forward.
Cissokho was the guy who didn't get signed by Milan because of his teeth, after busting onto the scene at Porto.

Don´t like them but you got to praise Porto´s ability to do business. Bought him for 300k from Setúbal sold him 6 months later for 15 million euros to Lyon. Laughing all the way to the bank. Tbf Cissokho also fooled me, i thought he would become a very good player.
There's a lot to be said for loan deals. We've dodged a few bullets with the likes of Cissokho, Sahin, & Moses.
That Utd was comfortably better than this Liverpool team. Just look at the players United had at the time and compare them. Schmeichel, Irwin, Bruce, Pallister, Ince, Giggs, Kanchelskis, Hughes. Few in the Liverpool squad get close to that level.Totally different times though, or so I'm told. The Premier League is considerably stronger now, & a lot more competitive, than it's ever been.
When you lot bottled the title in '92 what we're your thoughts? Did you think that perhaps it would drive you on to succeed in the future or were you saying "what a bunch of losers"?
