Agreed, it seems so odd not utilising him if he is fit, especially when Valencia is playing so poorly. Nani could be getting a long run in the team at the moment on his favored right side. He is pretty devastating coming inside too, much like Young was doing yesterday bar Nani is better at it due to his inter-play and finishing being far superior.

We have never suffered that much on the wings of late so rather frustrating when we have the talent but for whatever reason refuse to use it (that is if he has recovered)

In my opinion he looks certain to go. If he hasn't been at the Christmas party with his mates there is clearly something up. Every video I have seen of Nani at the club portrays him as quite a big character and certainly one of the lads so having him missing on these kinds of things with his mates proves we must have made a decision on him and there has been some kind of falling out.

Shame really as just when our squad looks brilliantly stocked in almost all departments something like this crops up and we lose another player. Not to mention that Nani is very talented and now one of our more experienced heads. He has the ability to win us a game in a situation like yesterday away from home, or in a tight encounter against one of the big boys.

Such a waste.

Is that true that he was definitely not at the christmas party?. If so that is surely a 100% clear sign he is not staying.

No injury would stop you joining the christmas party.

Such a shame we're gonna lose Rooney as well, who also missed the Christmas Party.

 where do you find out who was at the party? All I know is that Kagawa, RVP, Rio and Büttner were there.

Here's my question then... Where do you find out Nani wasn't at the Party? You've been laughing too much, it's really annoying that you all think you know better when you actually know as much as others... Fergie lies, Nani is not injured, the club is quiet and gives no information about his injury... and every Friday we hear from Fergie he's still injured.

Being serious though... I have Internet. That's what media reported.

And to make sure you realize it wasn't a four-man party... here are some pictures:

So seems as though most the squad was there, apart from 1 or 2...

I dont know but the whole nani scenario just seems fishy to me.

Perhaps he got pissed off when he got wind of Kagawa nicking the idea to do Gangnam Style?

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't get how so many people aren't seeing where the not-actually-injured camp are coming from. It's a perfectly possible scenario.

The people advancing the not-actually-injured theory are thinking we have a verbal agreement with a club in place and as part of that agreement we are not playing him so as not to risk injuring their soon-to-be signing.

As we all know, under this scenario it'd be highly likely that both parties would want to hold off on announcing it so as not to affect any other deals either club is pursuing, particularly on our end.

Personally I think - and hope - what's going on might include a healthy dose of "See? We're top of the table without you playing at all. We're hoping this can convince you that you're not a 130k player. Not yet at least. We think you could be, but we'll cross that bridge if we come to it."

Good grief. Well that's just nonsense, isn't it? It makes more sense for him to be staying fit. Can't wrap players in cotton wool. He could get injured on the first day of training for his new team.

Conspiracy theories are seriously getting out of hand here.

Also, wasn't he seen hobbling around at the statue unveiling??

Nani's Christmas Nightmare

Manchester United winger Nani seems certain to leave Old Trafford this January after the Portuguese ace bought manager Sir Alex Ferguson a DVD of United's 6-1 defeat to rivals Manchester City last year in the clubs annual Secret Santa.

The winger has had a frustrating spell at the Manchester club in the last few years, mixing some impressive performances with long periods out of form. But the latest "joke" from the tricky midfielder seems certain to end his time in the Premier League.

Our insider from the European giants suggests the tension was palpable as Ferguson opened his gift, while Nani burst out laughing in the corner.

"Some of the older players had to physically restrain Fergie" said our source, "If it was meant to be funny, it backfired massively."

Nani has attracted interest from many foreign clubs and now Juventus look certain to land the star for a reported eight million pounds. With his contract nearing the final year, Ferguson is said to be happy with any money recouped from the 34 million the club paid in 2007.

If we only get 8 million for him, I'll be well pissed off.

Of course it's a wum, but I bet someone will use this as an argument against Nani.

Twigg: you're a better writer than, oh, 100% of the Goal.com staff.

hmm.. ok

He's signing for Liverpool for 11 million in the January transfer window. You heard it here first
Honest

I don't know where the feck they're getting 34 million from either, he was £14m rising to £17m.

goal.com, what a site.

Strange...I thought it was a spoof article, written by Twigginater.

Shocking how many people that fooled.

Can you even imagine Fergie joining in with a game of Secret Santa!?

Not even Nani would be that foolish.

But it was a great gag, which had a slight tinge of a plausibility to it!

To be honest, I tired of seeing a player who held a club to ransom for a payrise, and the best he can do in that time is have one bit of magic and score 30 goals. I would have to say that even Zlatan offers a great deal more than Rooney, in spite of the fact that he is a hooligan. Back to Nani though, if he can get back on form and convince Sir Alex, then he will become a useful cog in the machine that is Manchester United.

'Proud' Lyon, I have you ignore for a reason, however, if another poster quotes you then I can see the post. Do as you were doing before, that is don't talk with me or about me for the sake of a better forum. I'm glad you have a new friend in Amar, but both of you are completely off the mark by suggesting I have a anti Nani agenda.

Anyway, I was one of the first to point out that it was mock article so what you said makes little sense, surprisingly or not is a matter of opinion.

One thing's for sure, the way we have been using him at the start of this season won't do any good to his form, you can't expect player to shine if he is played in one game, and benched for next three games. I said same about Welbeck, we are giving some players lot more time on the pitch then they deserve, but we bench Welbeck after one poor game.

I don't know, I trust in Fergie and in Nani too, I hope they will sort that out.

Welbeck is more to do with rotation than anything else, I don't think he's not continuously playing because of not playing well but just the fact that there's better players and a better system without him in the team.

The thing with Nani is that he can't play well in rotation, he tries to hard to impress and that's when Nani is at his worst - he's the complete opposite to Valencia who could slot in after a 5 month break and look like he hasn't missed any games because he does the simple things. To get the best out of Nani, you need to give him 3 or 4 games on the bounce otherwise you'll get these terrible performances filled with terrible decision making.

When Nani is fit he should get a straight run of 5/6 starts to get some consistency and form going like Valencia is still having and like Young easing himself in.
