With a fully fit squad, do you think he takes Valencias place on the right or Youngs place on the left?

If everyone is fit, he takes Young's spot unfortunately, as much as I rate Valencia, our strongest winger when everyone is in form IMO is Nani, so he should play RW his favoured position, and the LW will be who is best at LW that is left... being Young, but Nani left and Val right is stronger than any other combination chances are....

Where is that "famous united journalist" fella who said Fergie doesn't count on Nani anymore and that he will be sold in january?

Can see this turning out like the 09/10 season where Nani comes back from over 2 months out and takes our attack up another level. We had Rooney capable of scoring against anybody and I wouldn't be surprised to see van Persie matching Rooney's first knockout round haul of 2 goals in each leg. As long as we have one of Nani or Valencia in form by next month then I can see us beating Madrid but there's not many games between now and then. Nani's capable of really tying this attack together and hopefully Kagawa can find his place in the team because if these two find some form we really will be tearing teams apart on a regular basis.

The West Ham game is a perfect platform for Nani to get back into the groove. Start with him and Rooney and hopefully they both kick on.

And if our defence keeps improving plus if we avoid injuries in midfield we could end up having great season. And those are not some big wishes, it's just staying injury free, most of the teams rarely have problems with that.

The Nani haters are staying away today then?

I suppose they are waiting for him to fail so they can have a field day...

Valencia's haters don't, though. Even in Nani's thread.

And don't be so greedy. All Valencia haters have been having field days this recent couple of months.

I'm very insterested if Nani gets the same reception (if playing shite) that Valencia did after coming back from injury. My reckoning is - no.

Every Nani hater will be over the moon if he plays well, just as you many of, well, us?, have been waiting for a positive end of this hyped up saga, i.e. Nani staying.

I hope he comes back and hit the ground running cause we need him and all this bollocks about him being sold can be put to bed now. It was or should be certain from the very beginning that Fergie wouldn't let a player of his quality go for basically no reason but hey.

Valencia is in awfull form for half of the season already tbf, not just after coming back from injury.

I hope there will be patience from fans when Nani will make mistakes (the usual misplaced passes or crazy shots). It will take (hopefully not a lot) for him to get back to his best individually and then get used to playing with RVP/Kagawa and the new system in general.

Name and shame them. You guys are mean! ;)

Seriously I don't care one bit. Just shows that some guys on here have too much time on their hand, you could bump many posts about the guy spoutting some absolute batshit. Re Nani : I'd love him to stay but the situation hasn't really changed, he will have 1 year left in the next transfer window. And the fact that we didn't have many updates from Fergie about him for 1 month and half made me think that he was destined to go.

So good to have him back, hope he kicks on and this whole saga is forgotten.

I didn't ignore them. Fergie just used to say that he had a hamstring injury and not in all of his pre match conferences anyways, he didn't give many details about his injury until a couple of weeks ago when he came out and said that he was a fantastic player.

Anyway, I'm glad he's back and hope he'll stay for a long time at Utd. We'll need his flair on the right especially when Valencia needs more competition.

How different was that from any other injury at Manchester United?

He injured his [insert something], he's injured, he's injured... he's fit (+ often 'great to have him back, he's a wonderful player'). That's how it works.

A hamstring injury in general puts you out for about 1 month. What I'm saying is that we didn't know that it was a bad one until a couple of weeks ago, that's why people were saying that he might be gone especially after Fergie publicly criticized (which he never does) him plus the ongoing contract issue.

It's great to see Nani back in action, or at least dressed for duty. The cliche, I suppose, is that it's like having a new signing.

Even though Young has done well recently, we need Nani's services. My diagnosis from 6,000 miles away is that Valencia hasn't fully recovered from his problems and we've suffered from poor play on the right wing. Have Nani go back to the right, where I think he's happier anyway, and let 'er rip. The man must be unchained and allowed to wreak havoc.

And if we can open up a 10 or 12 point lead over City by the end of January (banana peel for City this weekend), Fergie can play around with the squad to get everything in place for a nifty CL run.

In so confused by this post, you've changed your mind 3 times as to who should play where :wenger:

Anyway I'm glad Nani is back, it will give us a new dimension and the way Valencia has been playing recently I would rather see Nani taking his place.

We should probably wait to see him get back into the team, before everyone starts all the "told you so" stuff.

I don't think anyone would seriously disagree that a top form Nani is one of our best players.
It's the fact he hasn't been close to top form all season, and the fear it's been at least partly triggered by the contract situation/greed.

A hamstring injury in general puts you out for about 1 month.

Not necessarily, it depends on the degree of the tear. 1 month is generally the upper limit for a grade I tear. You can be looking at 10+ weeks for a grade II. Complete tear (grade III) usually requires surgery and a few months.

At least that's what I was told by the physio when I tore mine this summer. Took me about 8 weeks to start playing again on a grade II.

And where exactly did I say he only was poor just after coming back?

You didn't, but you mentioned people criticized him after the injury, that's why I mentioned he was poor before the injury too, so I wouldn't call that injury as an excuse.

We all know what he's capable of...

DDG
Rafael Rio Evans Evra

Nani Cleverley Carrick Young

RVP Chico

That team tomorrow please.

Seriously what are people smoking when they think or hope to see Nani start tomorrow ? He hasn't played in a long time and against Liverpool you're hoping to see him start ???

I think he will start, I really do. Because of the form of our wingers, that he brings something else to the side and the importance of the game.

I was getting a tad fed up of him at the start of the season but with Valencia not having the best form its really great news having him back, especially after looking at last seasons review dvd his form at the start of last season was emense and this goal was just  imagine Kagawa added into the mix too:

It wouldn't be the first time. I reckon Fergie counts on the initial adrenaline rush of the first game back to give the player an edge.

This sounds what I would have thought, so it seems odd that Aguero apparently tore a hamstring, yet is close to a return a couple of weeks on?!

:nervous:

Even with our wingers being a mixed bag this season, I doubt Nani will start on Sunday. Two of Valencia, Kagawa or Young.

I reckon Anderson, Nani and Rooney will all start against West Ham in the cup replay. Perfect game to get them all back in the side.

My gut tells me the same thing.

Yes, Nani hasn't played "in a long time" but for that very reason it must be assumed he's fully rested. If he's fit enough for the bench he's fit enough to start, which is not to suggest he's necessarily fit enough to play a full 90+.

And it's not as though we're talking about the most ferocious back line on the planet. I have no idea who Rodgers will play at the two fullback positions, but if it's Wisdom on the right and Johnson on the left, it really couldn't be teed up any better for Nani playing on the left (v Wisdom), at least for 60 minutes.

I also see Nani starting giving his mates and the fan a huge lift.

But only Fergie knows how fit Nani is and how he's looked in training.
