He's been terrible whenever he has played, for a long time. I don't get why people can't just let go and accept he's gone in the Summer.

Nonsense. He's been quite decent since his return and was pretty good in his last start at Fulham. And he's most definitely shown much more in these games than any of our other wingers (bar Giggs) have all season.

Yep ,like the Rooney ultimatum ,i suppose Nani as been told to be professional till he gets his move in the summer.

The few times he´s played he hasn´t been any worse than our other wingers. He is out of the club though and it´ll be interesting to see why when SAF writes his second book in 2019

Nani has been pretty poor himself this season and has had atleast 3 poor defensive displays/brainfarts.

We allegedly tried to get rid in the summer too.

Not even made the team ahead of Young who's been out for a while now. Berbatov type situation all over again it seems, pretty sure he's gone in the summer.

He's been better than Valencia in any of his last few games but agree it doesn't look good for him. Really surprised he's not starting, figured young would come in but surprised welbeck is playing again or was thinking he might put Valencia at rb.

It just seems strange, even if we are planning on selling him, not to choose him over the much less in-form Valencia, or Young who's barely back from injury. Why would you have to bench a player in order to sell them?

Valencia was pretty decent against Everton, btw.

That's true, by his much-reduced standards of this season. But Nani's games since returning from injury have all been at least that good, and against Fulham he looked really dangerous.

I reckon he'll probably get some time off the bench, anyway. I don't buy into the nonsense that a few games out means he'll definitely be sold, regardless of whether or not it's a possibility. After all, in Young's first game back he isn't likely to play the full 90 minutes, is he?

The thing is though, that now he will be offered squad player salary and also won't want to sign a contract as a backup/squad player.

His wage demands and ego are pretty big too.

Because he isn't trusted anymore especially defensively in crucial games ?

Like tonight? He maybe made one or two mistakes and now people talk about his mistakes like it's something he's been doing all his career.

Do you just like making things up as you go along?

Might as well start playing Smalling on the right soon, defensive quality is more important for a winger than attacking it seems

Well, Zenit refused his wage demands and it has been reported that we aren't willing to meet them either and that is why he will have 1 year left in his contract.

Defensive mistakes, ridiculous. Rooney made plenty of those the other night, constantly gave the ball away. Nani doesnt track back once in a match 5 months ago and that's why he's frozen out, even though he was one of our better players in that said match (spurs)

He has been in the doghouse since the 2 games back to back against Liverpool away and Tottenham home earlier this season.

I agree he should have started today, but i am just giving a possible reasoning. Probably that crash thingy didn't help either.

Precisely, Nani does his fair share of tracking back. More than most wide players which for someone who is known for his flair and trickery is almost unheard of. Ronaldo was the worst when it came to tracking back but when he scored 42 goals for us nobody gave 2 shits.

Didnt he ask for mega wages because he didnt want to move there? Turned his phone off too according to reports.

Why not consider that Fergie knows that Nani is better at finding form after spending time on the bench compared to Young and Valencia who've proved that they need some time to find form?

He may be off the in the summer but I still thought he'd play in order to gain form. Might still make a difference until the end of the season. Even if it's one moment in one match.

So, are we just letting his contract run out for the lols ?

Maybe he asked for more mega wages from them, but he is reportedly asking for big wages from us too.

Don't believe the shit about turning his phone and going AWOL etc.. though. We were hardly gonna send the mafia to kidnap him.

Valencia has had the whole season to find form, and he keeps getting starts. Tonight is another perfect game for him to make some sort of impact in an attacking sense, yet he might continue playing as he has done and start again at the weekend.

No doubt Nani works back, but just not to the level that both Young and Valencia do. Besides, defensive discipline of a winger should only really appply when you expect to be under the kosh ie. vs Real Madrid. In a game where you have all the attacking impetus, as you'd expect from us against Reading, Nani should be starting (for this formation). Plain and simple.

How much more time time on the bench does he need though?

Young is returning from injury and hence needs games but how many games does Valencia need to find form? By this logic I think Nani will be sitting on the bench till the season ends waiting for Young and Valencia to find form.

Reports said he is asking for roughly the same amount Young is on. Hardly mega. Fergie said he wants to keep him and the club are still talking to Nani's representatives so that's the only official word at the moment.

It's obvious that Fergie's royally pissed off with him and is shipping him out of the summer. Whether we like it or not, it's been Fergie's way of doing thing from years.

People who keep on bringing Valencia in this argument are Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime.

You don't have a fecking clue what's Young is on right now. None of us have.

We all know how deadly Valencia can be when on form, and I reckon Fergie is just hoping for Valencia to get back to his old self. We have no idea when/if that will happen though, but all Fergie can do is to keep playing him. He's not going to find any sort of form if he spends time on the bench.

You said reports are saying he's asking the same as Young. The reports didn't said that, the reports only said he's asking for a payrise to about 130k from his usual 90k. Young was never mentioned in the reports.

No, but that's reportedly roughly what Young is on. Look, i know no more than anyone, and just hope something gets sorted but those hopes are diminishing fast.

He is on 90k or something already and is asking for 130/140K as per last reports.

Young will be closer to his current wage than his demands. Can't say for sure either way.
