If you think all is well you are being naive.
There has been too many rumours for there not to be something up.
Really hope it is resolved before next Friday. Either sold or a new contract.
Apart from Zenit, who else has been after him though?
I don't think we'd sell to City, Real seem to be blowing it all on Luka Modric, and Barca... well they're skint now aren't they? Only Paris and iirc Leonardo said they're done in the market.
I really can't see him going to Russia.
I just want the lad to string a few good performances for us and show he's worthy of the contract. He's definitely a game-changer, and I would be severely pissed off if he left. I mean, SAF may or may not decide to have Rooney, RvP and Kagawa plus another winger in a 4213 formation, with Paddy supplying the width on the left, with RvP/rooney interchanging there, but if our second best winger is Young, that's a massive loss in quality, especially when we play with 2 genuine wingers.
There's no one on the market as a winger close to Nani's ability, anyways. We can't just sell a brilliant 25 year old winger and not replace him. What happens when Valencia gets injured? Young plays, and that's a drop in quality, or we have to chuck Kagawa wide. Plus, if we play with 2 wingers and one of them's injured, we're back to playing Giggsy and co.
With Nani, we have an attack that has 5 absolutely top quality players, especially on their day. If even 1 of them's injured, we still have an attack to rival the best in the world. (Rooney, RvP, Kagawa, Nani, Valencia), and can fit them in any formation we want, because there's 2 strikers, 2 wingers and 2 hole players there, and that's just preferred positions (Rooney as a striker and a hole player btw).
Our next best attackers are Young and Welbeck; not in the same quality bracket, for me. Especially with Welbeck so raw atm.
I understand what you're saying, but can't you at least put in a 'fecking hope he stays' in there? We got 89 points last season cause of depth, and buying Young for 100k a week and 18 million quid, when he's a year older and generally worse than Nani (and a far lower ceiling), to eventually replace him (again no-one's there that can replace him, unless we get Di Maria or something on silly money), is stupid.
You don't sell your best players!
