Funny how many people here actuallly want him to leave.
And I expected it tbf.
This might Sir Alex's cunning way of getting Nani's head back on track and sign a new contract.
hope so - he seems a very humble guy in the limited interviews I've seen of him

If figures are to be believed he is on a surprisingly low salary. So one would assume he's after a substantial increase and the other side of the coin is, it'd be a fair comment to say we could do with a bit more consistency from him. Ideally, would love a more consistent Nani and give him what he wants.
Hes on 90k, wanted 120 that turned down. Now he wants 90 k plus 30 for each start he makes. Reasonable numbres imo
"Being dropped" is not exactly any sort of judgement in our squad... it just means you're in rotation. Were Young or Hernandez"dropped" for our last match? Etc.
Not many players exempt from rotation in our squad (usually only Rooney, Vidic, Evra...)
In the programme notes for Fulham Fergie said this:
But it seems that pretty much every article out there is linking that to Rooney with them saying that he's going to be leaving. I thought those comments were about Nani.
Without me reading through the last 10 or so pages, would you care to point out who wants him to leave.
Some are saying it will be a disgrace others are being a bit realistic about it and wondering why.
If it happens, it happens. But I would prefer a positive outcome for all.
It's more so a 'why the feck would we sell him in the first place?'. I see no point to it, we only have 3 wingers and he's an excellent player. It'd be a daft decision from Fergie, I'd be disgusted to see him leave.
Still think it was squad rotation?

Being dropped for a game is also not the end of the world.
If any of Hazard or Moura had signed United would have been looking for buyers. He is still here because those transfers failed to materialise. Nani must have felt unwanted. The poor soul.
United still only have 3 genuine wingers including Nani. Seems a bit light to go through a season with 2.
As for Everton being the last straw thats been going around 'not directed at you sultan', that's horseshit. First game of the fecking season and apparently that was it...
I agree. Still think he was though.
Is the media creating the rumours here, or is it this forum? Rumours will inevitably surface each time a big player isn't played, but he has two years left on his contract, and United has gone into a new policiy where they don't negotiate a player's contract before it only has one year left - hopefully they have rebuked that now as it is complete and utter bullocks.
Nani had a poor match against Everton, but he looked sharp in pre-season and had a good Euros too. I wouldn't worry too much.
Rightly so!
No player should be picked on reputations.
That policy is for players over 30 I believe. Everyone else we dont like them getting within 2 years
Doesn't he have a statue of himself at his home?![]()

Pretty sure he said in a BBC interview that it wasn't true, he has a mannequin or something that he puts his medals on.
7:26.
"If I hear that a player has fallen out of love with us and is looking elsewhere I invariably help them out the door."
“I really respect players who clearly want to play for us. And it has always influenced me when it comes to deciding who we should go for. The reverse is equally true for me because if I hear that a player has fallen out of love with us and is looking elsewhere I invariably help them out the door.”
The one problem with reading too much into this quote
Is that it is an incomplete quote, people are only looking at half the quote. I believe what he said was
Perhaps a much different statement. Of course the question I have is was he responding to a question from someone or did he just make the quote out of the blue? If he was asked a question, then what was the question, and then let's take the answer in that context.
Zenit St Petersburg are pursuing a £25m bid for Manchester United winger Nani, who has yet to agree a new contract at Old Trafford.
The Portugal player’s representatives reportedly met Zenit counterparts in Amsterdam on Monday to outline a deal.
'The news about Nani is true,' Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti said earlier this month.
'Everything will depend on how much players cost because we won’t pay excessive amounts of money.'
When asked whether Zenit had made a bid, he said: “I’m not talking about an offer to a particular player, but an offer to a club.'
