I have a question for those who believe all this conspiracy stuff about him not really injured.

Have United ever before faked news of a player injury for months, because he wanted out? We've had big players leave us before and I don't ever remember ghost injuries. In fact, has any club ever done this before? I can't think of any examples. Which makes me wonder why so many on here are adamant that it's true.

Kanchelskis.

In fact very similar situation to Nani

People are just stupid. As if he is limping around to fake it, to cover up that he is on his way out :wenger::lol:

SAF: Nani, you have not signed and we will sell you!
Nani: Ok, I'm of in the summer then. Anything else?
SAF: Yeah, fake injurie and limp around so that we don't hurt the club and keep this under the radar. We need to deceive everyone.
Nani: Sure boss, no problem, should I put a cast on my foot as well?
SAF: Limping will do, thank you Nani, have a nice day.
Nani: Same to you.

Bent and Lambert don't meet eye to eye.
Bent is heavily linked to be sold in January.
Bent has been injured for a good few weeks now, and is now apparently going to miss the next couple of weeks.

Telling a player is injured is much better than actually saying "No, he's off in January". Teams would know that United want to sell him, and so they'd offer less money.

I don't doubt that Nani was injured - but I don't think he is now. I genuinely believe that he is off in January - and I'm quite surprised a few people still honestly think that he's here to stay for the long-term.

Bent was genuinely injured. He played again in the Carling Cup match and then went off holding his hamstring(in the first half I think).

Up until around about when the transfer window opens, then... :nervous:

Ahhh, I hope we keep him. There just seems something so completely inevitable about it all, though. I hope we've not fecked this one up massively and that it's just Nani being a bellend (assuming there is something very untoward).

If Nani does go personally I can see him having a shit rest of his career so I cant see it being one we're looking at with regret when we see him pulling up tree's elsewhere.

Just saying that incase it helps anyone

I think he's far too good for that.

I'd expect exactly the opposite. Nani will tear defenses apart wherever he plays regularly. I just hope that it's here...

Keep saying he's injured until he's sold, then no more questions on the matter.

He had a very slight hamstring pull, why has it taken over 6 weeks?

I think he's as good as gone, has seemed incredibly distant from the club of late - he also wasn't at that Unicef dinner tonight nor did it look like he was at the Christmas party.

I've been saying it for a good month or two now - he's as good as gone. I just hope we sell him in January rather than the Summer so we can just get him over with.

I can understand if some believe that I have a vendetta against Nani, considering I've been constantly repeating the same thing over and over again (that he's leaving). For the record, on Nani's day there aren't many other United players that I enjoy watching more. The goals he's scored has been sensational - the Chelsea goal last season was outstanding. With that being said, when it's not his day it REALLY isn't his day.

He may have been injured all this time, I personally believe that he hasn't been injured all this time but that doesn't matter - it just seems to be incredibly obvious that he won't be here long. I mean, no interviews saying how much he's looking forward to return to action? No interviews saying how well the team is doing without him. Vidic was out, and he had countless interviews on his reaction to how United was doing etc.

I hope we get a decent sum for him. Nani definitely has a big ego about him - I just hope it hasn't gone to his head, otherwise his career is on a downhill path already. His attitude may have ended his future at United, I just hope a player of his quality doesn't end his top class level career as a footballer because of it.

He should get praise for that, rather then being criticized.

Do you want him to say things like: " I want to continue my career in Spain", or " Ferguson is lying about my injuries, I'm actually ok, and I have already signed for Juventus(for example)".

He has contract with Manchester United, and eventough it's quite clear his situation with club isn't the best, he has respect for the club that and doesn't talk in media at all, unlike 90% of other players who are mainly acting like attention-whores in these types of situations.

Fergie mentioned him in pretty much every pressconference in last 4-5 weeks.

Madrid: the perfect opportunity for Nani to kick start his season.

He'd be perfect to play on the left in that match, knowing Ronaldo won't bother defending.

Yeah, let's just weaken the squad halfway through the season for no discernible gain, great idea.

That is not what I meant. I do not expect him to hold on interview about that. What I was saying is that he hasn't even took an interview making a comment on his return to action, how excited he is to help United finish the season off well once he returns, how he's frustrated that he's missing out playing with Van Persie etc.

Having an interview about the potential leaving is not something I had in my mind. Only twats would make statements like "I WANT TO LEAVE".

Quiet could just indicate that he's actually injured and there are no plans to sell him at the moment.

Maybe - but Vidic, Anderson, Fletcher for example all held interviews during their long-term injuries.

If you thought that I meant the same as what Amar assumed I meant, then read the above.

Nice one. Take what I said the most negative way possible

Do you want a player who might not want to be at the club*? Keep him until the Summer? What good does that do?

My angle was that we'd receive more money for him if we sold him in January, than in the Summer because:

(a) January seems to be a time where transfer fees are inflated big time.
(b) Further away from the end of his contract.

Plus, we've barely used Nani at all this season and yet we're top of the table. Nani was/is a brilliant player for us, but people overestimated his impact all the time. It annoyed the hell out of me - especially when people would say that he's as important as Rooney. Bollocks. We'd do worse with Rooney out of the team all season, than Nani out of the team all season.

There's absolutely no evidence whatsoever that Nani wants to leave the club, and he featured regularly before his injury. Kicking him out of the squad in January would be a completely absurd decision. What good does it do us to keep a brilliant player til the end of the season, really? Is that a serious question?

You're right - but Zenit (?) did say that they wanted Nani back in the Summer, to which we rejected the offer because it wasn't high enough.

There is also that story to which Nani gave Petrucci a black eye.

Nani's the type to which it wouldn't surprise me if his attitude caused a problem with Fergie.

If Nani did nothing wrong, then yes I'd agree with you that kicking him out of the club would be ridiculous. Beyond ridiculous. But - say Nani wants to leave? Why should we keep him then? Say hypothetically that Nani stood up to Fergie - would you want to keep him then?

There's several reasons, mostly behind the scenes, which would make sense to sell Nani. I personally don't think the Nani situation is as black and white as your making out. He's injured = He can't play. I think there's more than that. I actually believe he wanted out in the Summer - maybe for more money, or a different challenge.

Nani has always shied away from the media, so this means very little. How many post-match interviews has he ever done? I'm willing to bet you could count them on one hand.

I'm just not sure why no evidence whatsoever is leading people to believe that Nani is definitely leaving. A player being injured for a while doesn't normally get turned into a massive deal like this, so why now?

I hadn't realised you were one of those who believe in some bizarre conspiracy, nevermind.

I can see where your coming from - and now I'm starting to realise that I'm starting to look like a twat

There is no evidence your right, and I guess your right when you say that Nani isn't one to make interviews.

But I just get the feeling - just a feeling - that he's off. Why? Personally, and of course everyone's opinion/perspective on this scenario is different, but I think the combination of Rumours of him wanting to leave in the Summer + Zenit saying we rejected a low offer for him + Petrucci black eye (MAY OR MAY NOT BE NANI) + Constantly injured = I think he's off.

One way or another, we'll find out in January/Summer if I was totally wrong or not.. I'll stop posting here now because clearly I'm just saying the same thing over and over.

And what's the story?

Nothing special. "He is injured, he has problems with his harmstring..". Before the City match he actually moaned about those injuries, saying how unlucky we are because our both wingers were sidelined(mentioning Nani's injury), bla bla. He actually mentioned Nani's name more then Kagawa's.

Every old match or comp video I watch at the moment makes me more horrified at the idea of us just letting him go. I think he may have paled in the memory during his absence.

And I'm not just talking about IhabX7's amazing Nani comp (although anyone who hasn't seen it should, immediately). Stumbled upon this YouTube selection of some of our great team goals from last season. Nani is integral to almost every single one. [EDIT: In fact, he is central to every move in that video during which he was on the pitch.]

It would be a shame not to see the sort of football he and Kagawa could conjure up between them.

I agree. He's properly disappeared since there were rumours that he's going to Chelsea. Even that Andy Mitten guy, who apparently has good ties withing the club, said that the players think Nani is moving to another Premiership team.
