O'Shea, apart from beeing invesible, also plays a very advanced midfiled role, almost like a striker.

Ruud tries to ge tinside the box and is fouled right on the top of the box. Free kick taken by Heinze that ends up in the wall.
 
Harward has been superb so far. He has has the best seat in the house to observe the match. He did however made an effort at one point to tell Heinze to kick the ball out of play due to lua lua's injury.

37' Again a superb cross from neville that slightly avoided Scholes and ended up in GK's hands.
 
What a sitter missed by Ronaldo. Heinze switched play from the left side of the box to Gazz sho then makes a nice rolling set up for Ronaldo just about 8 yards from goal. unobstructed Ronaldo spanks the ball over the cross bar.
 
42' Second shot on goal this half by Pompey. The cross finds yakubu who heads the ball from the penlaty mark. The ball ended up on the corner of the 16 m box . Interesting angle he chose for that shot.

I was afraid if we needed a defensive substitute today who will step in from the bench. Gazz who has had an excelent game so far seems to have taken a knock and is getting a treatmant on the sideline. He walks toward the dressing room as the ref blows the whistle for half time.
 
Well, that's the half.

Thought we played decently...dominated obviously...but I think we should've got a goal or two more. We need to develop the ability to kill off teams....moments of inspiration, together with luchk might have us lose/draw games we really should be winning....like the Fulham clash.

We've played reasonably well. They've got a pit of pace up f4ront though so we'll have to watch out for that.

Great goal from Rooney, Ronaldo should have scored and the ref fecked up by giving us a freekick instead of playing the advantage when Scholes and Ronaldo were in great scoring positions.
I don't think they have hit the target yet, we should put it past them in the 2nd half, but there's always a risk of another Fulhamesque result.

O'Shea and Phil have been quite solid.

44' there was a cross that came up from pompey and missed our defenders and brushed right in front of one pompey player who was alone about 5 yards from our goal. We were lucky on that one.

Situations like these can screw us up if we don't hit few more in the second half. Let's see if we will perform our usualy dip of concentration of the first 15 minutes in the second half.
