Rooney will not be banned from any friendlies for this, you don't get banned from friendlies for red cards or something. But he could be banned from league matches if the referee passes on the report to the FA.

I remember a similar thing happening with another team a few years back. Can't remember who it is for the life of me, but red cards do count in friendlies, if the ref submits a report. Yellows dont.
