Look city is not barca or real Madrid. We should get a result we are Manchester united.

But wouldn't be funny if they win and lost to the barcodes and we win the league.
 
Valencia, our most consistent winger, being dropped on what basis? Welbeck showing good signs up front and he too is being dropped.

How are people coming to these conclusions?
 
I'll be shitting my pants before KO on Monday, but FFS we are Manchester United, we'll beat the cnuts and (almost) take the league at the Etihad. My mind refuses to think of any other outcome, I might go into hiding for weeks if they beat us to the title.

Be confident lads, we will do this!!

Newcastle beating City, given everything the barcodes have at stake as well as the form they are in, is not an unlikely scenario. This league title will most likely be won on the final day of the season.

Marriner to referee Manchester derby

Andre Marriner has been appointed to referee the crucial Premier League derby showdown between Manchester City and Manchester United next Monday.

City's official website confirmed the news that the 41-year-old official will take charge of a game that could go a long way to deciding the destination of the title.

Roberto Mancini's side currently trail United by three points going into the game but, with a superior goal difference, know a win would put them in control of their bid to win a first top-flight crown since 1968.

Marriner has officiated just 25 Premier League games this season, substantially less than the 44 refereed by the most active official, Howard Webb. During that time Marriner has dished out 83 yellow cards and five reds.

A deeper breakdown of those statistics, though, shows Marriner is yet to issue a single red card to a home side this season, administering all five to the away side.

Monday's encounter will be the first Manchester City game he has refereed during the 2011-12 campaign, but his fourth United encounter. The champions are yet to lose with Marriner in the middle.

Preview: The biggest game of the season, bar none. Any result but a defeat is a good one for United. A loss would put us on 4 points out of 12,a run so poor i struggle to remember a similar one other than slow starts to the season. Citys return to form has been over rated in my opinion, theyve had three very winnable games and were playing without pressure. Well the pressure is back on. The surprise inclusion here is giggs. He has done it in the big games for us before and citys midfield will "over run" any of ours. This middle three will keep the ball all day long and thats how to beat them. Valencia and Nani will hammer their full backs and that added invention from giggs is what a game like this could be decided by. Form doesnt count with giggs,he can be relied upon in a game like this. The defence will have a huge point to prove after last weeks shambles and i expect them to respond. A clean sheet is hard to see. Im leaning towards a 2-2 a la highbury 2003 but cant bring myself to back against us:

1-3. Aguero Rooney, Nani, Nani (late counter attack)

I wanted Barca and Real to go through in the Champions League. Now they're not, so it means that United will get a result against City right? :nervous:
 
I'm going to do a Mancini and say we're going to lose.

City are incredibly difficult to beat at home, and they have the momentum.

It'll be a tight game, but i think we'll end up losing by a goal.
 
Fergie orders holiday tonic to ease title tension: United to make Cardiff trip ahead of derby

Sir Alex Ferguson will take his players to Cardiff on Thursday to escape the pressure building up around their Barclays Premier League showdown with Manchester City.

Ferguson has not told his squad yet but they are set to leave early in the morning for a two-day stay at the Vale Resort, a golf and spa retreat in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Manchester United are also believed to have been given access to Cardiff City's training facilities nearby and will return on Sunday, 24 hours before facing City at the Etihad Stadium.

Ferguson organised a similar break at St Andrews before United's last Monday night game against Blackburn at the start of this month.

The Old Trafford boss felt some of his younger players were feeling the pressure and was delighted with the outcome as United won 2-0 at Ewood Park to go five points clear at the top.

Ferguson said: 'The little trip to St Andrews was fantastic. The players loved it. It helped with the unity of the players. When players stay together, they become a team very easily.'

I know that feeling all too well. I'm trying not to get too excited as every time I do with United they let me down....

My gut feeling is it will be a score draw.

Should the worst happen and City win, they still have to go to Newcastle so I'm hoping the 4th spot is very much open so they will be going all out to beat City.

The old cliche of form goes out the window for derbies better come true on Monday night!

Does anybody else reckon it could go down to the last day?

I think:

If we win, I think we'll win the league by 9 points.

If we draw, I think we'll just scrape over the line.

If we lose, I think we'll end up in 2nd place.
