Manchester City vs. Manchester United

Took us a long while to get going but we're looking good now. Some clinical stuff in attack. We better start the second half with pressure as they will be looking to strike back. Be ready to counter attack them some more.

We were clinical with the finishing mostly.. a pity our wingers are not that great form.. else we'd have had one or two more

That was Rafael.

Hope someone reminds Fergie about 2-0 being the most dangerous scoreline in the game.
Bricking it.

Yeah, realised as soon as I posted, but despite being off form he still has given them some real trouble and the assist has him involved at that "figured out flank", could even have a goal if he had a left peg. No worries, and happy to see his and Young's defensive contribution.

Redknapp get worse

rooney hat trick would be awesome.

Things were going as scripted until Rooney's rather fortuitous goal, we couldn't keep the ball and spent a lot of energy chasing City shadows. Since the goal Utd looked to have gained confidence and City's lack of character is showing. The fact that their best defender went off injured has been a huge bonus as well.

He came across like a dick to be fair. The Real Madrid game he was at fault for 2 of the 3 goals and never got punished for a couple other mistakes. To come and do an interview like Johnny Bravo after being a big part of the blame doesn't look good. He should have been more humble and said they have a lot to learn and praised Madrid.

The second game?

Showing both goals again. The build up for the 1st deserves more credit. The back header and the chest down were pure class

Ummmm no?

That first goal is such a Manchester United goal, brilliant counter-attack. Hope we don't have a meltdown in the second half.

I'm sorry but Kagawa's best will come from playing where Rooney is and Rooney is deservedly Untouchable.

IMO we've yet to see how dangerous Kagawa, Rooney and RvP can be.
While I agree that Rooney is deservedly untouchable, Kagawa could play a more than decent part out on the left drifting in and interchanging positions.

Not to degrade Young because he's been great this half, but to me taking Kagawa over Young is a no brainer.

I thought our game plan was great soak up a little pressure, hit on the counter than assume some control. i thought the work rate and playing for each other was good and even without the goals we had as many maybe better goal scoring opportunities as them

Won't surprise me hugely if Mancini sees the door if we end up winning by 2 or 3.

And Martin Tyler might cry :)

You're probably right. However, Rooney, RVP and Kagawa seem intelligent enough players to get a system working.

Today's game really shows how clueless City's summer signings were.

Wasn't nervous at all before kick-off, but now? The inevitable onslaught is going to be nerve-shredding.

Lets not get too giddy yet!

If we continue to play this well in the second half score will be 0-4. Fantastic first half well done lads!

Only they'll have more conviction. No 4-0 for me.

Will keep it tight and not go all out for a third. The key for me is that they didn't score at the end like Chelsea did which gave them so much more heart to equalise.

City will be pondering whether to go hell for leather or be cagey and try and score one first

Well, close.
I'd still rather use Kagawa or Nani ahead of Young if I had the chance, and Vidič always gets the nod when healthy.

Young has done a good job so far, shame about some bad crosses and decisions but no complaints about his application, which we needed far more today than what Nani or Kagawa could offer.

I agree but if we play a diamond or something, Kagawa can play behind both RVP and Rooney. Or, just give both a role behind RVP with freedom, doing so will still make them go back and help defend.
