Charity/Community Shields should only count in the event of a draw, as it is a draw we can rightfully claim now to be England's most successful club.
Surely tonight settles any debate, if it wasn't settled already? The cnuts have been knocked well and truly off their fecking perch.

I dont really care about this stat on its own.
I'm more concerned about the mid to long term improvements we are building upon.
Dress it up or down any way we like, its 4 trophies(3 major) in 2 seasons. If by some magic we copped the feck on and got more consistant and went on to win a few leagues in the next 5 seasons. Signings included of course. Then we can look back on today and last year and say. These are the shoots of success which we started from post SAF. And i'd also like LVG to get a little credit for helping that along with the FA cup win, after the way we dumped him at the end.
So heres to continued success
I'm sure they'll find something !Now Liverpool fans can shut up for good.
They were saying that the Intercontinental Cup did not count.
Now, they have nothing else to say.
SAF's tenure doesn't count.I'm sure they'll find something !
I agree, Moyes was a mistake a step backwards after SAF. LVG was a step in the right direction but lacking in exactly what we needed to do and its good to remember he did get us to the CL, almost twice and a trophy but he had to go. Then Jose came in and he took us forward again.I didn't dislike LVG, just didn't think he was the right manager for us. In the end, winning is what matters to us, not style, not beautiful football, not possession football. LVG brought with him his philosophy and it didn't look like we were heading back to our winning ways. Jose brought his philosophy and got us 3 trophies in one season. So it is a shame that LVG had to go, but clearly the club made the right choice. If only SAF pushed for the appointment of Jose instead of Moyes back then...

To be fair, anyone would have been a step backwards after Sir Alex. Trouble is, Moyes would have been a step backwards from Herbert Bamlett.I agree, Moyes was a mistake a step backwards after SAF. And i have said it before, I believe that Jose was our first choice. I remember seeing him return to play at Old Trafford after leaveing chelsea. He walked round like he owned the place and hugged our staff, security included like they were his own. Sky even picked up on it. He walked down the ramp and looked round the empty stadium. That was it for me. I just knew he was our next manager. He had this whole air of, relax lads the king is back, going on.
I believe, as he reveled himself, he knew in December, SAF approached Jose in december of that year to offer him/persuade him to come to Old Trafford. In a post game interview around this time he said he kew for 100% one club in england. I think Chelsea knew it wasn't them and were considering asking him to return. So they made the big move for him over the winter break and were we left wondering what might have been.
Anyway here's to more trophies next season and the scousers eating sour grapes... As long as we keep improving to to be actually competing for all the trophies especially the league and CL, back where we belong.

best post was some guy saying "we've won 18, but we'll soon win more"

And it's irrefutable that we're the most successful team in England this season (two trophies to Chelsea's one).I don't know about "for good", but for now, it's irrefutable that were the most successful English team, being 1 ahead if you take the domestic cups and 3 major European cups.
And it's irrefutable that we're the most successful team in England this season (two trophies to Chelsea's one).
So we might not be the most successful team (of all time) in England then?Well, only if you go on the understanding that all trophies are of equal importance.
Which not many do.
