Manchester United v AC Milan

I'm bricking it

We looked knackered against Boro, and Milan are too clever to fancy ourselves against with our entire defense out

Come on Ronnie, we need your biggest game yet

I think smith's important tonight. We need him to ruffle up maldini and co so that ronaldo and rooney get more space to work with. It's very nervy with the threat of suspensions and lets face it...the italians WILL make a meal of any foul and ofcourse the injuries we got. I know we have to be defensively strong but if we play Milan at our tempo then I reckon we'll be too strong for them. We can't let them settle and dictate the pace otherwise we won't score enough goals and we'll more likely concede. I'm going for a 2-1 win for United. Hope it's 7-1 mind you...:p

I think Ronaldo will pull out all the stops tonight. He's got to be still on a buzz from winning the awards. Odds are 80-1 on a hatrick. Must be worth a tenner bet

Agree we'd be fools not to try and take the game to them like we did with roma imo with our defence so depleted its our only hope of coming out of the first leg with a win or still in it.Some might say their too good to just leave ourselves open against but sitting back will only result in milan dominating posession and dictacting our game and picking holes through us at will.If we attack them the good old united way which we never did last time we may shake them up a bit.

Awards are usually mockerers. Look at manager of the month, etc. And he's got three of them in one go.

Not that I don't think he'll try his best, he always has. This season especially.

FORZA MILAN!! :)

THERE IS NO WAY WE WILL KEEP A CLEAN SHEET TONIGHT...

if we do we'll go thru...seriously doubt it...1-1..I reckon..and they win 1-0 over there.

Hope I'm wrong

Football maths. Transititivity.

United 3, Celtic 2 ÷
Celtic 0, Milan 0
-------------------

= United 1, Milan 0.

----------------------

Giggs to score.

The kids are the ones that scramble to be the first to post pictures of club badges at the top of the thread in some bizarre playground style testosterone contest....anyway I won ho ho.

As for the info on the match...if this website is peoples first port of call for information on United then we're all fecked.

Just post your prediction and be happy I've spared you the agro.

Wahey, I've beat the kids to it.

I reckon 1-1.

Fill your boots children.

You people are a bunch of feckin lunatics!! A makeshift, patchwork defence and youve got Scholes down as a CM trying to protect them in a ECL match!?!?!!

Seriously what planet are all of you on!!!???

The planet where Scholes is an important player and one of the world best CM's, think its called Earth, why, whats your planet? Also who would your team be then?

Prediction: 1-1

Giggs and Gilardino

We must learn our lesson from the last time we played them. Attack and put them on the back foot like Liverpool did and they will crumble like Roma. They cant stay with our pace. FFS i said this back then and i was slagged off on this forum and then we went out and gave them to much respect (space and time on the ball) didnt fecking score and let in 2 soft goals.

We cant win unless we score goals I say go for the jugalur tonight

(4-2-3-1):
---------------Van der Sar----------------
Fletche---- Brown----- O’Shea------ Heinze
---------Carrick--------- Scholes----------
---Rooney------- Smith------------ Giggs;
---------------Ronaldo-------------------

That's how I would line up....

no matter how many times I tell myself that the CL isn't that important this season and the prem is where it all is, come the CL matchday, and I'm absolutely bricking it.

You can't beat the CL matchday tension, particularly if its a semi final. Shame I cant be at OT today :(

Very nervous about our back line. Come on Ronnie and Rooney. You're the ones who can bail us out.

 Why is Smith on the bench?

We could really do with his pressing from the front, put the Ities under pressure theyre not used to. Was a key facet of our win over Roma IMO.

Because Fergie has bottled it and played safe, like he always does in European games, unless we go a goal down early on.

Why arn't I looking forward to this game?

Great to see Evra in the Starting XI once again, and back where he belongs.

That is a boost.

I'm not either.

And it looks too defensive - we're at home for goodness sake.

Keep moaning everyone. Occasionally that works. :nervous:

It's a good line up. I think Fltcher is a more useful player for this game than smith - it's the first leg and it's going to be about not conceding as much as scoring.

Our only two really good performances in Europe this season were against Benfica and Roma at Old Trafford. Both games we were a goal down early on in, which forced us to play like United.

Other than that it's mostly been boring negative shite

No more injuries please :nervous:

To be fair, our back line isn't exactly at it's strongest, and with Milan playing 5 in the middle they will probably need a little protection.

I think he did the sensible thing, imo.
