Heinze should not be playing CB though, he looks very out of his depth, was very good when covering Evra at LB though.
Carrick put in another quality display, solid, always finding a man in space with his passing, and Rooney + Ronaldo will give Milan alot to think about for the return leg.

You got that right... it is a huge difference, at 3-2 we only need to avoid defeat, 2-2 and we have to go and win or score 3 goals.

they rested a few players at weekend, amazing how we kept going in 2nd half, real desire on our part!
The lads pulled it off! A credit to everybody, we was a little lucky with the first goal, however I believe we deserved to win the game. Was a gd game overall...!!
Brilliant match, crucial last minute goal scored by Rooney, avoiding defeat is enough to progress to the finals.

I finally got to see the game at my gym soon as i started my bike routine rooney scored his first i settled in and watched us batter them and i frecking screemed out when he scored the winner in stoppage time. I frecking love this team and what they are made of.

I was just watching the game again and they got their first goal when the referee gave Milan a non-existing foul against Fletcher. fecking ridiculous. Ans we gifted them the second, so basically, the bastards were lucky to leave Old Trafford with 2 goals. I don`t remember VDS having to make one save, except for a Pirlo corner which was going wide.

I thought it was all over at half time but I'm glad our patched up defence performed much better in the second half. It was an amazing result considering the situation we were in and it leaves us in a position whereby if we can somehow avoid defeat in Milan we are going to Athens.
But at least we have a chance.

Just like the Rooney post Christmas last year.If he is confident and trusts his instincts he is unplayable.
Respect to Kaka who was also at the top of his game but Rooney shone out like a beacon today.Well done lads my soul felt dark at half time but was brimming with light by the final whistle.It ain't over but we brought ourselves back from the brink today.

We all need to sit down and pray that none of our team gets an injury during now and the end of the season.
We've seen it happen again today. Milan are weak in the 2nd half, Bayern scored both their goals in the second half and we scored 2 and dominated the half. It's important that we hold firm in the 1st half and contain them and play on the counter. Then in the 2nd half we look to kill off the game by pressing all over the pitch.
The important thing is not to conceed more than 1 goal in the 1st half.

A fabulous game !..... Errors cost us the goals, but I d'ont think its fair to blame our defence, as it really was a patched up job, players out of position etc.
Before the game, if I was told Utd would win 3-2, I would honestly be fearful of the 2nd leg. But, given the manner of our performance, I actually feel very confident for the 2nd leg !.... Milan don't seem to have the legs for the last 30mins or so.... this was evedent last night, and also against Munich & Celtic in previous legs. ........ Roll on Weds !
