We're more than capable of beating this shower. We know what their 2 strengths are, stick Fletcher on Starfish to constantly harry him, and mark Ladyboy properly and they shouldn't be a problem.

I don't think we have to really. I mean we did play 4-4-2 against them in the league when they came here. So if Rooney is fully fit, then I suggest we start of with 4-4-2 and then change to 4-3-3 if we need to.

If Rooney is not fit, then we have to play 4-3-3 with Giggs, Nani and Berba as our front three.

If Rooney isn't fit then I can see Berbaritto being called into action again.
 
As long as Torres guards Berba during corners, then I think Berba might score again from a corner.

If Rooney is not starting, then why not start Hernandez and play Giggs on the left? Why do you want to start Giggs as a striker when he have two actual strikers in our squad?

Experience. We usually have one of Scholes or Giggs in matches like these

Giggs will be in the floating role behind Berbatov, that's the way i see it though. Sir Alex will have other ideas

That's why I meant start Giggs on the left wing and play Hernandez up top with Berba.
 
I've always gone by the unwritten rule that if you have a player who is on form and has just scored in their last match, then they must start.

So our little pea must start. Rooney come on second half if fit.

However, remembering the days of our baby faced assassin, that rule might be absolutely bollocks.

If Rooney cant play and SAF goes 442 I would not mind Owen starting for this game. He's apparently fully fit and had reserve games. It would mean so much if he could score ... even more if it were the winner. Else, without Rooney in a 433, Id go Nani, Berb, Giggs with Carrick, Anderson and Fletcher in behind.

Keeping Liverpool neutered for as long as possible always should be a background strategic objective for Manchester United. I really want to batter Liverpool tomorrow, like we have never done before. It should feel like what we did to Arsenal in the FA cup in 2006/7 when we beat them 4-1 or Arsenal CL semi 2008. To not only beat them, but shatter any illusions of recovery they may have. 2nd week of January and already they have nothing to play for - Imagine having to play in that team and even worse having to support it.
 
Bad feeling about this one...Shit they may be but its United, one of the few competitions they can still win and its King Kennys return. Wouldnt be suprised if they snuck out a win. Hope im wrong.

Plus a chance for Europe next year. I think they will bust their balls to win and we have to play well and no mistakes. I agree that the new manager syndrome will help us as our players will know they're in for a tough match now.

Erm, no I think Hernandez deserves to start given that he has scored in both games he has played after a break. Owen should definitely come on as a sub just because it is Liverpool and he will get good match practice.
 
I wonder if Owen will get the nod for this 1? Would be great to see him score against them.
 
Just to remind 08/09 season, when Liverpool was our main rival in the league. Gerrard Rhapsody. After Rafa's press conference, after they lost their advantage in the table, after Gerrard punched a DJ. Great season.

I m positive he won't start. But I m also confident he will come on as a sub after the hour mark. It will be interesting to see how he reacts(celebrates) IF he scores a last minute winner like the one he did against City last season.

Comes from a itk Dipper who has a track record of getting them right. That'd be Agger in for Kyrgriakos, Meireles for Cole and Kuyt for N'gog from Blackburn. Possibly Gerrard in the hole behind Torres and Lucas and Meireles in CM together which is what Scousers have been screaming for.

Possibly the best team they can field. Gerrard looks the shadow of a player he was a few seasons back, I can only really see one winner.

If I was picking their team i'd actually play 442 and play Gerrard from the left like Park plays for us.
