This one is going to be exciting. Its going to be so important for our confidence this season if we can put in a good performance here. I'd take a draw considering Arsenal's recent form but if we win this we're back in top confidence mode.

I hope we don't make too many changes.

Carrick and O'Shea in for Scholes and Neville in my opinion.

I think we'll win quite comfortably to be honest. 2-0.

Foster

Fabio
Vidic
Evans
Evra

Valencia
Fletcher
Carrick
Nani

Berbatov
Rooney

Subs: Kuszy, O'Shea, Neville, Giggs, Anderson, Park, Owen.

I have a feeling Fabio will play and score in this game. He did last season. Oh wait....

2-1

pretty scary prospect given Arsenals recent form. This one is going to come down to the tactics i think - if we approach it like the CL final against Barca, with our focus on how to counter Arsenals key players then i cant see us winning. We need to go out and play our natural game, hopefully bag an early goal, and really attack them.

At this stage, i would honestly settle for a draw.

I'm going to the match - first time in absolutely ages to Old Trafford and I'm excited as hell. I'm sat in the NW Quadrant.

Foster
O'Shea-Evans-Vidic-Evra
Valencia-Fletcher-Giggs-Nani
Rooney-Berbatov

I've got a sneaky feeling he'll plump for the same midfield duo that put Chelsea to the sword.

United win!

That's the team I would pick there. Giggs will almost certainly start having been rested for the full 90 today.

4-3-3Only way to beat the Arse is to keep the midfield tight similar to how Barcelona beat us in the CL final.

Same formation we used in the CL vs the Arse, Nani for Park and Owen for Ronaldo. Anderson must play, he shits on Fabregas

Team should be...

GK: Foster

RB: O'Shea
CB: Vidic
CB: Evans
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Fletcher
CM: Giggs
CM: Anderson
LM: Nani

CF: Rooney

Subs: PIG, Neville, Brown, Carrick, Scholes, Berbatov, Owen

feck knows what the score will be but given Rooney is off and running for the season now likewise Owen I think we'll have enough to hand them their first defeat of the season

I'm not afraid of them, we should give them a proper smack after the recent media wanking !

They certainly need knocking down a peg or two. We are the ones to do that.

arse on fire

me so scared
They have played two league teams in turmoil, we can take them.

The only question for Fergie should be who partners Fletch in the middle.

Good team, that's what I'd definitely go with, and same reason (Chelsea) too. We're at home, we're the champions, we're Manchester United. Play to our strengths, not to stop theirs.

Guess Anderson won't play then since Fabregas pulled his hamstring against Pompey. Out for 3 weeks their physios say.

While Arsenal are fresh and on form, I think we'll most likely have to do something like this to beat them.

Foster
O'Shea Vidic Evans Evra
Valencia Carrick Fletcher Anderson Nani
Rooney

Subs: Kuszczak; Neville, Brown; Park, Giggs; Owen, Berbatov

I'd hate to leave out Berbatov though as he'd be the main target upfront, but in a 433 it'd basically mean Rooney has to play wide left. I don't think we can afford to not play the trio of Carrick, Fletcher, and Anderson for the majority of the match if we want to win the midfield battle - that's the most important part of the game against Arsenal.

Due to lack of fitness for everyone we have at right back, Mr. Dependable, John O'Shea, will probably play (and score the winner). The rest of our defence should just be as strong as it can be, regardless. Park is hard to not play in the big games, he's done very well against the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea in the past. But Valencia and Nani have been good lately, and with the midfield rather defensively and workhorse built, I think we can afford to be a bit more adventurous on the wings. Rooney up front alone could prove to be a mistake though, so maybe he'll just go for more of a 442.

Although if Fabregas' injury is as serious as it could be, a 442 is more workable.

Get the best out of our best attacking player if we want to win the match. 442 please.

Giggs is surely a definite starter for this one, possibly Anderson and Carrick too - though frankly I would rather take Fletcher than Carrick into this game.

As for the strikers, I think we would do well to play Berbatov up front if we are going for a single striker. We will need his strength and holdup play if we are playing effectively a 4-5-1. Rooney can be used later as an impact sub if the Arse are looking tired.

Looking forward to this, yesterdays result will help our confidence but Arsenal are in a different league. Hopefully it will be a good game, good atmosphere and eventually a good result, but more than likely there will be some squeaky bottom time along the way.

Old Trafford will be a major help for our lads, tie this in with our latest performance and Arsenal's performances I'll predict a thrilling 3-2 win to Manchester United.
