Barclays Premier League
Old Trafford, Manchester
KO: 1245 GMT
Team should be...
GK: De Gea
RB: Valencia
CB: Evans
CB: Ferdinand
LB: Evra
CM: Carrick
CM: Cleverley
CM: Scholes
CF: Young
CF: Rooney
CF: RVP
Subs: Lindegaard, Rafael, Powell, Anderson, Nani, Welbeck, Hernandez
Cant see how Rafael can start after tonight (why are we playing early on a Saturday after a Wednesday night game?). Not sure about starting Scholes against a pacey Arsenal but again what choice do we have?
Predict RVP to do sod all against his old team
One of Scholes or Carrick should make way for Ando, he's putting in the performances when given the opportunity. Right now he's the most powerful CM 0ption we have at our disposal and should start a game like this IMO.
Kagawa's injured
From the Braga game? I thought it was just a knock. Oh well, it'll be Young I guess.
We can't drop Carrick as he's the only truly defensive CM we have, but Anderson over Scholes or Cleverley for me, give him a boost in confidence with back to back starts, however I think he'll be on the bench.
The team won't be this, but I'd like:
De Gea
Rafael---Ferdinand---Evans---Evra
Carrick
Scholes---Cleverley
Rooney
RVP---Hernandez
Cleverley to mark Cazorla thus reducing Arsenal quite significantly. I expect their defenders will be extra paranoid about stopping RVP for obvious reasons, so include two other strikers to find the resulting space to exploit. Welbeck looked injured, so Hernandez would be my choice despite looking shattered at the end of the Chelsea game - he and Rafael need some serious r&r ahead of Saturday.
I expect it will in reality be RVP and Rooney upfront with Valencia and Young on the wings and Carrick and Scholes in the centre - which might be a problem if Diaby, Arteta and Cazorla all start, or even Wilshire.
As ever I'll be flooding my fantasy team with Arsenal players in order to jinx them...

As ever I'll be flooding my fantasy team with Arsenal players in order to jinx them...
De Gea
Rafael Evans Rio Evra
Carrick Scholes
Valencia Rooney Young
Van Persie
That's what I would go for personally. I think Fergie might stick Cleverley in there in place of Scholes though. Hopefully Smalling can get some minutes near the end as well.
Will Arsenal give Van Persie some rough treatment?
"Robin you're a cnut you're a cnut
Cause you took a punt
On a team
In the trophy huuunt.
Robin you're a dick you're a dick
And we'll give you schtick
Because at
United you've been siiiick."
[To the slightly altered tune of the oh-so-sophisticated 'Samir You're a cnut'].
Will Arsenal give Van Persie some rough treatment?
So that's a no then.
