Manchester United vs Burnley

I forgot about the manager situation. I expect them to bring in a new manager by then, and there'll be the new manager bump. Damn.

Well their assistant manager and goalkeeper coach have both jumped ship to Bolton, with most of the coaching staff ... who've they realistically got left in the meantime Graham Alexander as player/manager perhaps?

2-0 to Burnley.

We are without quality since Ronaldo left and Fergie's past it.

Best case scenario:

van der Sar, Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Anderson, Giggs, Rooney, Berbatov.

SUBS: Kuszczak, Neville, Evans, Park, Obertan, Scholes, Owen.

However, any of van der Sar, Ferdinand and Berbatov may not be available for selection. From the press I estimate Vidic will be ready, and Owen will start I think if Berbatov doesn't make it.

Plus, it's going to be my first time at Old Trafford! :D Mega-excited!

Good luck on your first visit, a never to forget experience. Hope the lads do u proud

-------------PIG------------
---Rafael-Wes-Evans-Evra---
-Valencia-Ando-Carrick-Giggs-
---------Rooney-Diouf-------

Diouf to win 4-0 and hopefully i'll be in the stretford end to see it:D

Does anyone know if Macheda is fit?? not saying he should start but would rather see in in the squad before Diouf at the moment.

feck knows who we've got for this game.

Kuszczak
Rafael Brown Evans Evra
Valencia Carrick Fletcher Giggs
Owen Rooney
--
Subs: Amos; de Laet, Fábio; Anderson, Scholes, Obertan; Diouf

Didn't see Diouf against Birmingham, but the way everyone's always wanting him to play and his selection against the Brum may mean he makes the bench again. If we're honest Welbeck has been shocking in every League game bar his 'debut' vs Stoke when he score the wonder goal, so why not? However, if Berbatov is fit enough to play a part, start him and have Owen on the bench over Diouf. The likes of Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, and van der Sar could have a say as well... If we're honest Burnley are shocking away and this is a chance to get another three points, some goals, and get some players minutes on the pitch that need it.

Why is everyone so excited by Diouf?

desperation IMO.

Maybe because he has the potential to give us something different up front the rest of the season. He's only here, he's just finding his feet but he's big and pacey, plus he can score goals. (I know people will say he did that in a weaker league, but a certain other striker did the same, did he not?). If the lad can get some minutes each match, then hopefully he'll settle. And also, he's the type of striker who can get up and get his head onto something, which we don't really have going for us at the moment.

van der Sar is back with the rest of the group on their four-day training retreat in Qatar.

Doubt he'll be fit enough to start, but a good sign anyway.

Know this guy's not avaliable for certain.

DARREN FLETCHER: -Suspended from all first team football until the Club have completed 1 first team match for a Sending Off in a match played on 09/01/2010

A must win. We need to take some confidence from this too.

I would pick:

Kuszczak
Rafael Brown Evans Evra
Valencia Carrick Anderson Rooney
Berbatov Owen

However i think the boss will pick:

Kuszczak
Rafael Brown Evans Evra
Valencia Carrick Scholes Giggs
Rooney Berbatov

I think both would win but i think it's important to try and get a few players a bit of a confidence boost.

Isn't berbatov still injured! If so owen has to start up front with rooney!

Not sure, recent pictures show him training with the rest of the squad in Quatar so quite clearly hes not had any sort of operation yet....to be fair he was never 'injured' in the first place it was more a case of him playing in discomfort and maybe requiring surgery in the near future to sort it out....he could have played against Birmingham fergie said that was the case.

A good thing you aren't the manager then because Fletcher is suspended.

Fergie won't be getting any fines or bans either for his recent Clattenberg comments. Nothing to do with this thread, but as the united forum is all financial and bitching now. I thought I'd share the good news here.

just remembered: one of the American girls (fine half too) that hangs out at my local has been to OT twice in the last 12 months. Both times Utd scored 5. The 1st was v Spurs last season and she just got back from the Wigan game a short while back.

we should have her at every game!

 Typo. Meant Anderson because he hasn't played for a while and he needs a bit of a confidence booster imo.

There's a girl who I met at a bar where I live who has also been to see United twice in the twelve months. 4-1 scousers, and the cl final. I hope she never goes back.

I have no idea why I picked Fletcher to start, it must just be habit by now xD. Scholes will probably start then, but I think I'd rather see Anderson in for this game.

I really do think the lads will turn on the style.

Pig
Rafael - Brown - Evans - Evra
Valencia - Carrick - Gibson - Giggs
Rooney - Owen

I'm assuming Berbatov, VDS, Vidic are all still out.
Hopefully Nani will be on the bench and come on at some stage.

3 - 0 with Gibson banging one in from range!

Snow update? Any chance of this being called off?
