I've no idea how the atmosphere will be around the stadium tomorrow. I can't imagine it being lively and cheerful like most Xmas fixtures.

I can see it being nervous and edgy. If we don't show any fight or at the very least create some chances in the first half then it's going to go downhill very quickly for LvG.

If he makes any strange substitutions like he has done then the crowd will surely let him know soon enough.

God help him if Chelsea go 1 or 2 up. It won't be pretty viewing.

We need to reestablish the spine of our team. Blind and Smalling at CB and Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger in CM.

No, we play to our strengths and stick 3 in the middle - the Schmidfield and Herrera. We haven't even had a chance to properly test it out

Not gonna happen, Rooney won't be dropped again. We need people in and around the box or we'll keep having hardly and chances.

Just saw the article that said van gaal has no idea to turn this around... (or, "very difficult" as he puts it). how do I change my score prediction?

    I'd play:

    De Gea
    Young Smalling Jones Blind
    Schneiderlin Carrick
    Mata Herrera Martial
    Rooney

This. but swap Carrick for Schweinstiger. Carrick has played three 90mins games in a row with the last coming 2 days ago. I think he'll be rested for this.

I would have started Schweinsteiger, but he's been out for three games. You know, match rhythm and all that. I'd have Schweinstieger replacing Carrick at around the 60th min.

5:30? What kind of weird shit is this?

Wow, prior to the stoke loss, i was so sure of United putting up a fight and winning. I imagined LVG in the post match interview looking all relived and with a couple of smug answers. It was supposed to be the start of a confidence booting run.

Chelsea will win against United tonight. Or it might be a draw. A united win looks bleak. It looks bad for LVG and i will be sad if he goes.

Cant wait for the match to end. It used to be cant wait for the match to begin, now it is cant wait for it to end. I hope the crowd turns on woodward the clown. Wanting Lvg to stay, crippling united, making fools of us in the transfer market. I think our biggest problem is him and he has to go before anything else. Wanting Giggs as manager is stupid. Not hiring mou when he is available is even worse. It dint work out for Lvg and i wanted him to succeed but closing your eyes to it wont make it better. Players dont like him. Every other club is ruthless we are not a football club it seems, it seems secondry, all we are is the worlds biggest T SHIRT seller.

    Ddg
    Jones-Smalling-Blind-Young
    Schneiderlin
    Schweinsteiger----------Herrera
    Rooney --------------------------Pereira
    Martial

Blind needs to get back at CB, him and Smalling have a better understanding and Blinds passing ability from CB is needed. Jones should be restricted to a man marking job, just making sure the left winger is inmefective and we all know Young can do a job at LB.

3 mans midfield of Schmid and Herrera, enough fight, work rate, with Herrera and Scheeinsteiger being able to get out of some good spacea.

And Memphis has been horrendous, give Pereira a chance.

Would not mind going three at the back for this one with blind and Jones either side of smalling so the possession and distribution can improve.

4:30 A.M. kick-off in Eastern Australia :(. Won't be wasting my time getting up to watch it live.

    -------------De Gea--------------
    Darmian-Smalling-Jones-Blind
    -------Schneiderlin-BFS--------
    --Mata----Herrera----Young
    -----------Rooney-----------
    -----------Martial------------

This would be my preferred line-up. I don't want to see Martial on the left. Depay is suffering and needs to out of the starting line-up. Mata generally plays well when paired with Hererra. Give Rooney a free role. If Darmian is not fit then Varela should be right-back.

Not confident. I'd actually take a 0-0 now. That's how weird the last couple of weeks have been.

I'm really surprised that some folks on the stoke thread thought that LVG making the rooney change was somehow a good sign that he was changing things. It was literally ONE change.

He kept the same team and tactics against norwich and stoke and unless he drastically alters 4-5 players and positions, it's going to end up the same result. Rooney wasn't the only issue against Norwich, there were a host of problems that LVG refused to fix going into stoke.

His stubbornness will ultimately lead to his resignation tonight if he doesn't put chelsea to the sword, and lets face it, we will struggle to get the draw.

I've already said it (maybe a bit jokingly), but after waking up today, I got a feeling we will prove a lot of people wrong today and get a good result, with a decent performance with it. It's not a logical assumption, though.

We're really poor, but they won't allow us to play with 12 :)

Drop Rooney and it's a good team.

I think Mata or Young if Darmian is fit, will be the fall guys.

Fabregas & Hazard out for Chelsea according to rumors.

Playing with Jones = conceding goals

Carrick/Mata/Fellaini/BFS any combo of these lads in midfield is way too slow = no pace

Martial and/or Memphis on the wing = no goals and no good final balls

    Rooney = no good touch/shot/pass

    Damage limitation today should be;

    DDG
    NcNair Smalling Blind Young
    Mata Scnheidi Schweini Hererra
    Pereira Martial

    Reality will be;

    DDG
    Young Smalling Jones Blind
    Mata Schweini Fellaini
    Memphis. Rooney Martial

LVG will have three full backs on the bench again. Thank god this is his last game in charge.

The board have a lot to answer for letting his run with his bulls*#t 'philosophy' this long.

    De Gea
    Young Smalling Jones Blind
    Schneiderlin Schweinsteiger
    Mata Herrera Martial
    Rooney

Something along those lines. I actually expect us to win since Chelsea are so poor this season and are missing a few players. Don't know what that would mean for LVG though.

    Being rested for tougher games.
We need something to gee the team up. Like Liverpool did last week with their 2:59pm plane banner fly past: "Let's Twat These"
