Manchester United vs. CSKA Moscow

Ok.

1) Chill out. We're looking good going forward.
2) Kiko is looking very, very tidy indeed.
3) The defending for the second was a shambles. I think criticism of VDS for the first, although inevitable, is harsh.
4) Owen misses some very easy chances.
5) Nani has been lively enough.
6) I'd hope (and expect) that we can at least equalise in the second half. We don't want to lose this long record.
7) Does anyone think we actually look more susceptible to defeat at home in Europe. We are safe as houses away...[/QUOTE]

We've had a 1st choice defence in all games up to now....makes a huge difference

Compare our games away to Besiktas and CSKA to the home matches against Wolfsburg and CSKA - we've yet to concede away yet we have fallen behind both times at home.

It's not really a criticism - I just think we play more open at home...

Nani is one of our best players...looks dangerous (the girl is so dangerous)

Decent performance going forward, the back line has let us down though. What the heck did we do for CSKA's second goal? Not exactly a masterpiece of defending...

Not a huge disaster if we dont turn things around. We will still be in a good position to qualify. But we will put topping the group in jeopardy, and possibly worse, we miss out on having a dead rubber game or two to give the younger players some playing time.

Scholes has done ok but I think Anderson will strengthen the midfield...CSKA are passing it around for fun at times.

Valencia has been ok, but he has one foot, he makes progress, and the whole move stops because he can't use his left foot

Nah he hasn't scored a hat-trick and completed every single pass successfully or beat his man every time. He's at fault for this, shit bastard.

fecking atrocious defending all around. Wes Brown and Jonny Evans are looking like Sunday League defenders out there. Fabio looks well off the pace. Neville is a spectator when we are defending.

On the plus side, Macheda has been excellent. Owen has been lively.
Also, Nani was not offside when he was through on goal... Should be 2-2.

sky sports ....a stunning penalty by ronaldhino....what the feck is a stunning penalty....the twat

We're playing a couple of youngsters tonight, to be fair.

Our wingers and strikers have all done quite well, its at the back we've been a huge let down.

Valencia has to be the most one-footed player I've seen in a while.

Yeah. He hasn't played bad but sometimes he gets the ball and runs with it, the defender catches up with him but because he can't cut in onto his left, he stops dead with the ball and more often than enough passes it back to our RB.

fecking hell I pray we don't end up losing this match....:nervous:

Valencia would play well with Rafael offering the overlap on the right imo.

And ffs do sky have to mention Ronaldo whenever we miss a fecking chance?

What would you rather we do at home? 4-5-1? I'm sure 75,000 fans pay to watch us play defensively

It's a pity for Nani that O'Shea isn't playing. Someone to share the flak.
I am sure glad that SAF changed is mind from Yesterday about Foster. He would have been blamed for the first goal, and some will say he should have come out quicker for the second. All about predispositions really

If by 'the whole move stips' you actually mean 'he pulls two defenders out of position then gives it to Neville in acres of space' then yea ok.

I'd like Berbatov on second half

You can really see Evans is carrying an injury too... Sheasy maybe?

I don't think Berba is in the squad mate. Knock from the Blackburn game.

Good if predictable

It's about the only thing Dinho excels in these days, apparently.

Fair point, but it would be great to have some dead games to start Obertan, Gibson, and maybe even the likes of Eikrem and King.

Ronaldhino hit the ball at 3,000,000mph, probably why they said its stunning..good finish from Benzema too

wev been playing shite all season....come on admit it ...be honest with yourself

Beckham was the last one I recall for United, though I'm sure there have been more. Maybe because he was so high profile I remember his lack of a left foot far more than others.

Beckham had a fine left foot. Scored goals with it and was able to come onto it and cross.

The last one footed United player you can remember is Berbatov.

Was top corner and sent the keepr the wrong way too

CSKA's second goal for those who missed

A real facepalm moment. Can't remember the last time a player has waltzed across our 6 yard box.

So you think the first thing Nani will do after the game is read this thread - (after first having a mate translate it into Portuguese for him)??!!!

With the number of idiots at OT these days I'm sure he can feel the vibe, he doesn't need to read a forum!

Valencia often does well when he cuts inside. He should do that more. Their first goal was after a weird backheel from him giving it away in midfield.
If Van Der Sar would have caught the lesbian for her goal, he would be off, so I don't have an issue with VDS for their second, but their first? He looked like he was leaning away from the ball. Good finish though.

This reminds me of the aalborg game from last season that we drew 2-2 after going down twice.
