Manchester United vs. Everton

We really need Anderson and Gibson to play a blinder today.

After viewing that team line up it's obvious that the CL is Fergies priority this season.

How is it obvious?

If it was his priority surely Rooney Hernandez nani et all would be rested

No surprises for me, Fergie was always going to prioritise europe, unfortunately, id have gone the other way myself, full strength today and rest one or two on tuesday, even if we lost the first leg wed always have the return to turn things around, theres no come backs if we drop points today.

Just hope fergies European obsession dosnt feck up our season.

This.

The team looks decent, but I'm not so sure about Fabio as left back. While we know he is very good going forward, defensively I have my doubts about him. He almost without fail gets a yellow card and if its early he will be on a tight rope the rest of the game which will be bad for us.

Obviously if we don't give him games here he won't improve but considering the situation it makes me nervous. Should go without saying but Gibson is another worry for me.

SAF: we've got a great squad, why not use them, we trust our players, we always have done

This. Our first choice strikeforce at the moment seems to be Rooney and Chicharito. If SAF was making Europe a priority, then surely he'd rest one of them. Also I kind of expected PIG to start, and also when I saw Obertan come in before the teams were announced, I thought he'd be involved.

It's a better team than I thought it'd be.

Can someone paste the line-up ? I can't be arsed to look for it

Man Utd v Everton line-ups
Man Utd: Van der Sar, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Evans, Fabio Da Silva, Valencia, Gibson, Anderson, Nani, Rooney, Hernandez. Subs: Kuszczak, Evra, Brown, Owen, Giggs, Carrick, Rafael Da Silva.
Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Coleman, Neville, Rodwell, Bilyaletdinov, Osman, Beckford. Subs: Mucha, Cahill, Gueye, Vellios, Anichebe, Mustafi, Duffy.
Referee: Peter Walton (Northamptonshire)

Nervous...that's a decent Everton side even without Arteta & Cahill. It's well balanced & there's a good mixture of youth/experience. Bit lightweight up front, but they're well capable of grabbing a couple of goals.

3-2 to us with a late, late winner.

Strong bench with Rafael/Evra as attacking full backs, Giggs and Carrick.

At one I have to go and look at a house - hope it doesn't take longer than 10 minutes

I'm nervous, but our current first team is burnt out and in need of a rest. Let's pray this works.

what is it with Sky , we are 6 points clear with 5 games left and all they are going on about is United losing and fecking it up.
I bet they would not do that if it was Liverpool or Arsenal or Chelsea in the same position.
REALLY feckS ME OFF

They're selling the spectacle, of course they'd do the same if someone else was in front, they want people watching until the last minute of the season.

"Rodwell loves to score a goal vs United".

Really? Just one isn't it?

this is no time to rest now, all the big matches coming up.

Evra is in desperate need of a rest, Vidic has played a hell of a lot and Carrick has too lately. That is the point of having a squad, so you can change a few things around and freshen things up. It's a better side put out than I thought it'd be. I don't want us to be burnt out with the games coming up that we have.

I thought PIG and Obertan would have started. Our best wingers are playing and also our best strikers at the moment. Plus we have the best GK in the league playing, I think we'll be fine today.

i've no problem with fabio. i think he's evra's equal in everything but experience, which is huge. defensively he can't be worse...but that's just me.

i see he playing right back today...nevermind. lol
