Manchester United vs. Everton

I was disappointed today and expect to be further disappointed midweek. I'd love to see Kagawa, Nani and Januzaj but I don't think we will.

Yeah. I know Januzaj was poor vs Cardiff but he should have been on the bench today at least. I wouldn't start Januzaj vs Everton but would probably have him on the bench. I would love Moyes to go bold and start Januzaj + Kagawa/Nani on Wednesday though. Highly doubt it'll happen but I think Kagawa or Nani will start.

----------De Gea-------------

Rafael ---- Vidic -- Evans ---- Evra

-------Anderson -- Cleverley-----

Valencia-----Kagawa-------Nani

----------Rooney---------------

Have RVP as an option off the bench if he's ready

So many poor performers of late, it's almost hard to predict/pick a decent side. Hopefully RVP is back and we can drop Rooney into the no10 position, and feck Kagawa off - he isn't offering the team nothing in the league. Can't see us winning this, Everton are playing well and we are atrocious.

A lot of people putting Rafael in the team.

Is he fit again? What's the situation?

Genuinely think he could transform us, daft as that sounds for a right-back.
I've been putting him in my team for weeks now thinking he should be back any game. And agree, people really underrate just how important he is to our team. Improves us defensively and going forward is brilliant. I was hoping he would've been subbed on today but wasn't to be.

few observations about our players that should determine team selection;

1) One of Jonny Evan's major weakness is going up against big physical strikers and he always seems to get dominated by them and with Lukaku in the opposition, I think our centre back partnership has to be Vidic and Smalling with Rafael at RB.

2) Fellaini hasnt performed this season and putting him up against his former team is not very ideal. He might easily get sent off and given Everton's midfield nowadays we dont need a physical presence in CM. Also it is paramount to realize that Giggs can only perform in certain types of games like in Europe where it isnt as fast and you are not closed down all the time. I think against Everton, if he starts he may struggle. Its best best to bring him on later if needed. So for CM, I would go for Cleverley and Anderson, I still believe in him, he should be able to give a 60 minute performance fulling running and moderately good passing.

3) If RVP is still out, go with the same front 4 as Laverkusen away and if he is fit, replace him with Kagawa.

So with this in mind, here is my team:

De Gea
Rafael Smalling Vidic Evra
Valencia Anderson Cleverley Nani
Kagawa
Rooney

-------------DDG
Rafael---Vidic---Evans---Evra
-------Fellaini---Giggs
Valencia---------------Nani
--------Rooney---RVP

vs

----------Howard
Coleman--Jagielka--Distin--Oviedo
----------Barry---McCarthy
Mirallas-----Barkley------Pienaar
-------------Lukaku

Ahh, I tuned in late and missed the subs line-up.

Good stuff.

Hopefully he's fully fit and raring to go. Could be the difference.

Yeah. He combines really well with Valencia and gives us a threat from full-back which I think is vital in the modern game. I will be disappointed if he doesn't start.

Yea, nice one. Lets play a CM of one guy who has forgotten what a ball looks like, and another who gets kicks out of running incircles and passing it back to the CB.

De Gea
Rafael Evans Vidic Evra
Fellaini Giggs
Nani Kagawa Januzaj
Rooney

I expect Moyes to select a team invariably shitter.

No it dosen't. Rafael offers a lot: He always performs well, we get a massive boost in both defence and offence, and make everyone's life easier!

Valencia and Rafael on the right will be a good combo. Valencia keeps that side solid, does not have an end product but helps us control the right side. With rafael coming in, we will get some quality on the right in attack. Will help us out a lot.
I doubt RVP will be available to start this one, I think he will start against newcastle.
Fellaini and giggs in midfield.
Januzaj on the left(nani can start the next game).
welbeck or kagawa behind wazza.

DDG
rafael--vidic--evans--evra
------fellaini--giggs------
valencia------------januzaj
----------welbeck--------
--------rooney----------

We will win this, 3-1. (rooney, fellaini, welbeck and lukaku the scorers)

De Gea

Rafael
Evans
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Giggs
Jones
Nani

Rooney
RVP

--------------De Gea----------------

---------------Rooney---------------

Subs: Lindegaard, Smalling, Anderson, Nani, Welbeck, Chicharito, Van Persie.

Ive little confidence in our premier league form at this minute. Everton will be well up for this game and thankfully its not at goodison although we will have that to deal with down the line. Moyes needs a win here for many reasons but the most important one is that we need to get into that top 3 or 4 by xmas.

We need to have jones in midfield. He has been one of our better performers in midfield. If anything, cleverley needs to be dropped. I'd go with jones and one of giggs/ando/fellaini in the middle.

He's banned.

Smalling must play at centre-half. Lukaku will beat Evans up.

Our CM options are Fellaini who is still yet to impress at all, Cleverley who hasn't performed well in a long long time, Giggs who can put in a worldie one week and make you want to die the next week and Anderson who never plays.

We're all hoping for a Leverkusen surprise performance here I think.

I'm amazed this one hasn't been picked for TV - Moyes vs. Everton, when they are above us in the league? It's such an obvious choice to market, I'm stunned it isn't being shown.

Quite ridiculous. A lot of people pay £43.50 a month or something like that for Sky Sports (including me) and a game like this isn't even on TV.

It's scandalous when they're showing Swansea v Newcastle instead.

There must be some reason like United can't be on three times in the league in the space of six days or something.

Another game billed as a must win. We've had a few of those recently and in truth, every game will feel like that for a while yet until we have a more comfortable position in the table.I'd say we should consider our next three home games as more than winnable, and if we can take seven points from nine from the three away games we have in December then we are good to go into the new year.

I'd consider bringing Adnan and Nani back and give Valencia a break.Rooney and Kagawa to continue and in midfield, well there are few options.I imagine if there's a game in which Fellaini would want to impress then it's against Everton, so this fixture could inpsire him.

Fail to win and it's the final nail in our coffin with regards to any potential title challenge.

Basically, according to most, he's not fit because he hasn't played any games to get fit. So don't expect him to play until he's played some games to get fit.
