Manchester United vs. Everton

Must win. Simple as that really now. We need to close the gap on Arsenal between now and the new year.

Fellaini will start for certain.

It'd be quite worrying if he didn't, in a home game, being totally fresh, and with Jones and Carrick out and Cleverley not in great form.

Rafael needs to start for me.Going forwards, he offers more than most of our supposed attacking wide me.The width he gives us, coupled with his defensive qualites should mean he starts whenever he is fit.

It seems that unlike us Everton havent suffered from a transition period. That's strange isn't it?

Nah, they've a decent midfield... Much easier for them.

But we supposed to have taken from them their best midfielder + much of their successful coaching staff. Am I right?

This on telly or am I gonna have to hit the pub and suffer the inevitable midweek hangover

Great

We're pooched in midfield then. Who do we have fit? Can Paul Scholes unretire again...

Anderson Cleverley Fellaini and Giggs! Honestly I'd give Anderson a start, but it seems unlikely given how little he's featured.

Have to laugh at people saying we're screwed without Jones in midfield for a home game against a non top 4 team. Sort it out!

I am not saying Moyes will be cautious with his approach but he won't want to lose against Everton (obviously doesn't want to lose any game but you know what I mean). So I can't see him taking a gamble with Anderson. It's Giggs and Fellaini in the middle for me.

I think I want Giggs. Robin and Rafa too please.
Evra is bound to be a bit knackered too, even if he was rested for a few minutes against Leverkusen but will no doubt play this game and Newcastle.

Rafael Evans Vidic Evra
Giggs Microphone Anderson
Nani SPACE Januzaj
Rooney

Before I worry about trying to squeeze 'X' amount more attackers, I'd like the onus to be on getting the basics right and looking more solid as a team from the back. This gives Fellaini slightly more freedom, the thought behind that is we need to play him into form I think, when he has a few good games, we can build on that, I'd even allow him to be a 'box to box' in this formation, allowing him to drift into the oppo box etc, agreed we have better players to do this, but I believe it's his BEST position, so it's the easiest way to build him some confidence while trying to improve the team performance.

I'll be quite confident if both Rafael and Januzaj start. Even more if RVP does.

---------De Gea
Rafael-Vidic-Evans-Evra
Nani-Cleverley-Giggs-Januzaj
--------RVP--Rooney

Is RVP fit? If not, I'd go for a front 6 of Fellaini, Giggs, Ando/Clev, Januzaj, Nani, Rooney.

De Gea
Rafael
Evans

Evra
Fellaini
Cleverley
Valencia
Januzaj
Rooney
RVP/Hernandez/Kagawa

The media shit storm and the pressure would be insane if we don't win this match.

"Everton outplay United with new manager"
"Moyes struggling yet again as Everton easily hold United at Old Trafford"

Must.Win!

I actually think i'd like to see Ando in midfield to be honest. I'd like to think he's one of the midfielders we have who can do a similar kind of thing that Giggs did against Leverkusen. At the very worst he's mobile (well, until he gets knackered lols) and will drive forward with the ball, something most of our other midfielders don't seem to fancy doing.

Quite ridiculous. A lot of people pay £43.50 a month or something like that for Sky Sports (including me) and a game like this isn't even on TV.

I'm in the same boat with regards to paying for Sky, but so are Swansea and Newcastle fans. We are on Tv quite a bit.

7 pts out of Spurs, Everton & Newcastle was what I wanted so hopefully we beat Everton + Newcastle.

I hope so, it is surely doable.

Is it though? every home game seems to be a battle for us these days, when in the past, we'd almost expect to win, no matter who we played there. Everton and Newcastle will be extremely difficult games IMO. We'll have to play a lot better than we have the past two league games to get maximum points.

But winning these matches is a thing we have to do to prove we are capable of competing, it's also an opportunity for Moyes to show ambition and he is worthy of the job.

Funny game football. You don't just throw a template over every club and say this will happen. Of course easier that the expectations at Everton are much lower than they are at United. Being realistic if we were sitting 5th right now, we still would not be an entirely happy bunch especially since it would really only be a difference of 2 points and a better goal difference for us. Plus each side is coming from a different situation. So all in all, yeah some clubs will transition easier than others, sometimes it is entirely relative based on where they were starting from.
