Manchester United vs. Liverpool

It's weird how giddy I am after watching us attack with tempo even though we've created feck all!

Hernandez's all round game has improved immensely. He used to look ropey in possession in the build up play. Good dribbles and passes. I hope he scores.

We look more fluid with Nani and Kagawa in. They look rusty, but they also don't look nailed to the touchline, and their movement has caused problems.

Why is Buttner getting slagged? He didn't appear to do much wrong. Got in some decent crosses, took on his man. He stopped what easily could have been a goal when Sturridge was behind him. He's done okay.

Wrong position.

Kagawa in behind Chicha. Rooney in CM with Jones. Giggsy off for Januzaj and play him out wide.
This bollocks that Kagawa would be transformed if he played number 10. His passing has generally been sloppy. He needs to buck up.

Not watching. Where is Kagawa playing?

Left wing, but he's soo dire it is untrue... honestly Young would be far more use based on this performance. He just does not have the dynamism to play on the wing for a side like us, for Japan he doesn't have to track back and can build up play slowly.. he just does not fit the style of Manchester United in my opinion as a left winger... as a support striker, probably still has a chance or even as an attacking mid but winger no chance. Get Janzuaj in there would be my take on it.

I'm a big Kagawa fan but he shouldn't get a pass for that performance despite playing on the left wing. In actuality, he has drifted into central positions more often than not anyway. He's been ponderous at best when he's had the ball and given it away several times in needless circumstances. My only guess is that he is suffering from a weight of expectation. Hopefully he can relax and play his natural game in the second half.

I'd take Giggs off and bring Anderson on. Would like to see Januzaj and Zaha get chances in the second half too.

We need more from central areas, our wing play isn't up to scratch because the players there simply haven't played and aren't match fit. Kagawa needs to move centrally, maybe a bit further back, make a 3 and have Nani roaming behind Rooney and Hernandez.

It's a lot better than the City performance.
*gets stoned to death*

Kagawa hasn't seen enough of the ball to be fair. He needs it pinged in to him quickly.

Enrique is a very underrated full back. Insanely strong, quick and good delivery.

Yeah, he's never going to work there. We either play him in his position or get rid of him. Klopp said it pains him to see him wasted there.

Its the normal Nani, one bit of decency followed by a brain fart. Beats 2 players....crosses into keepers hands. Rinse and repeat. Still the one most likely to make something happen though bar Rooney

If anything I think Nani's been too conservative, playing passes rather than running at people. When he started drifting off the wing and getting into shooting positions centrally, he looked far more dangerous.

If Liverpool had been remotely clinical in that half, they'd be ahead by two or three. Really poor in the final third. Terrible through balls played behind the forward, awful shooting, control etc.

Kagawa and Rafael look rusty understandably, Nani looks a bit sharper but Enrique is giving him as good as he gets. Overalls not much to impress but we look a bit livlier than we did on Sunday.

Nani has been great, good to see real attacking winger that can play with the other players around him.

Holding in there!!!

Smalling has been immense this first half. Don't bother with classy stuff... just get the job done.

Jones i think has been good as well. Doing a great job by himself in midfield. Hope Carrick replace Giggs for the second half to give him a hand.

we have to win this!

What brain farts has he had? You know players can't get everything right throughout a game right? Rooney once gave the ball away by passing to straight to Gerrard early on. Everyone makes a couple of mistakes.

I think it would be safe to say that all our hopes and dreams rest on the shoulders of Januzaj; and that that's not an unrealistic amount of pressure to put on the lad. Unless he doesn't sign a new contract, in which case he was always overhyped.

Give me that over "receive ball, look at opponent and pass back or fall over"-Young any day of the week.

We've looked far better then them.

They wouldn't necessarily have because with 1 goal up then who's to say they would create the same chances they missed, who's to say Utd would magically have waken up and destroy (yeah I know, I went OTT at the end). My point a goal would have changed things.

He needs to do things quickly, not at his current speed which is 2mph.

He needs to be closer to Rooney and Nani in order to achieve some good combination play. Buttner needs to be whizzing up the wing but he's shit so Kagawa has no outlet on the left.

I think 2mph is harsh Sixpence, he's at least produced the revs to hit second gear.

WTF are these Liverpool chances that Sky are showing, FFS only one was on target.
They are all pissing me off even Neville.
They are making it sound like Liverpool hammered us and United were shit.

Yeah, it's pathetic

You know what might work really well? This team with an actual central midfield.

Giggs is getting completely owned and is positionally clueless. Jones is doing alright at reading things and nicking the ball back, but he hasn't done any actual midfielding at all...anyone would think he's a defender or something.

To be fair, I'd have probably subbed off Giggs in fury for that moment he stopped playing and tried to demand a freekick because Suarez shouted at him. It nearly cost us a goal and I can't fecking stand players doing things like that, let alone ones who've absolutely no excuse not to know better. On another night it's the reason you lose the game.

At the moment Jones looks like the experienced player being forced to play out of position and Giggs looks like the clueless kid who might have a bit of talent one day.

True.

It's just defining why they'll never get top 4. Zero end product from far too many players. Against quality opposition, Sturridge has been woeful again.

Don't really think Kagawa has been bad at all. He's been okay. He's not played for ages, so he's obviously not going to be sharp and firing. He'll need time, but it's clear that he offers something far more dynamic and less predictable than Young. He's harder to pick up, and look more confident running forwards, than shuffling on the touchline with his back to goal.

If we play this kind of football, with Carrick and Rvp in the side, it's going to be bloody awesome.

We look far more likely to create something than we have done for a while IMO. Factor in rustiness and the fact that we have no CMs and I find it baffling that anyone could suggest that Nani and even Kagawa don't deserve a run in the team. Hernandez has done well but RVP is RVP. Give us Evra, RVP and some CMs and we will look good.

Sky are baffling. Utterly clueless.

He's been alright. Done some good things but just looks a bit out of place in this side. Doesn't look like he has an understanding with anyone, which is strange given he's been here for a year.

some absolute clowns write into the bbc text page!

One genius saying he can't remember the last time he enjoyed a United game! Can't have seen the Leverkusen game then.

If we win tonight, he'll probably be first on there saying how great a display it was!
