Manchester United vs. Liverpool

Hernandez and Kagawa should definitely start, hopefully Nani and Januzaj will too, though I can see Giggs playing instead of one of them... which I wouldn't mind too much, as Giggs will probably shine in home games like this one (I think back to West Ham at home earlier in the year).

I agree, this is the type of game that I think if Giggs is a part of the squad, he should be involved in. An experienced head around the youngsters in a big game. Allows one or two regulars to be rested, in my opinion, this is why Giggs is still involved.

I've slept on it and decided that Zaha should be on the bench and we should give Januzaj a start. I'd be interested to see just how ready this lad is for first team football, so lets give him a go. Put him on the left and Nani on the right.

I'd love to see that but am certain Valencia will start. hopefully with Nani on the left atleast and not Giggsy :nervous:.

Giggs' inclusion in the domestic cup games has become expected and it's an area were he has been rightly used too. He'll definitely be involved tonight IMO.

What type of team are we expecting Rodgers to play?
I really hope they're in full strength gung-ho mode. Hopefully a catalyst for us to raise our game and kick start the season after the weekend and of course the loss at Anfield.

But, I think it'll pan out similar to Anfield with two teams playing it safe. I wouldn't be surprised if this went down to a penalty call or even all the way through to penalties.

Nah, I don't think either Young or Valencia will play tonight.

Hope you're right. I want Hernandez to feature too but it'l be tough to play all of Nani, Januzaj, Kagawa and Hernandez as Rooney will start in all probability.

I'm certain he'll go full strength, Suarez starting and wound-up - they went very strong in the last round at home against a lower league side and they have nothing going on this time next week to have to rotate or concern the squad for so there's nothing stopping them. They are also coming-off a loss themselves, but will smell blood after the City game to pile on our current misery.

Whichever side we put out tonight - they will have to be fecking up for it right from the start.

Is this on telly vision?

I agree. But if managers feel they have to give their no.2 goalkeepers a game every once in a while, I'd rather it was the league cup than the league!

Very true, can't argue that, but don't see that a keeper needs the same kind of 'match fitness' an outfield player would, mind you that is from my ignorant POV (Not knowing much into the regime of Keepers).

I hope the scousers put out their strongest team for this...I want Moyes to put a solid team in with more attacking intent, Nani/Kagawa/Hernandez to start with atleast one of the twins...let's go for it and see how we do.

Us having a go in a big game and losing would be an improvement to us being shit, pathetic and then losing

Really? You couldn't care less if Liverpool beat you in the COC?

I know its 3rd choice of the domestic competitions, but that's a bit poor.

No, I don't like losing to Liverpool but I would prefer the youth get their chance in the league cup, a meaningless competition. I also live a life that a football result doesn't affect me personally.

Take her out tomorrow night, say it's cheaper to go tomorrow

Do you have a wife/girlfriend? Take her out the day AFTER her birthday with the argument that it is CHEAPER? Do that, and it will be his last post for him here or anywhere else for that matter. Ill advise!

We'll win. I'd love to see a 4-3-3 with Fellaini in the pivot role.

I sure hope she appreciates it! You're a good man, Colin ;)

It probably won't even register.
