Manchester United vs. Liverpool

Team I'd love to see:

De Gea, Fabio, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Cleverley, Nani, Kagawa, Januzaj, Hernandez

Team I expect to see:

Lindegaard/Amos, Fabio, Smalling, Evans, Buttner, Carrick, Cleverley, Nani, Welbeck/Rooney, Kagawa, Hernandez

Amos
Fabio Smalling Evans Buttner
Nani Anderson Cleverley Januzai
Kagawa
Hernandez

Would be a good team giving the usually benched players a run and a hint of youth. Not the best defensively, but our apparently world-beating defence is shit anyway.

There's no way Moyes will play such a weak side when pressure already is mounting.

We will see two or three changes from last game at most I think.

Fabio, Nani and Kagawa for Smalling, Young and Welbeck.

Two changes at most?

Not a chance after than shambles on Sunday. Moyes has taken the stick but the players were generally awful themselves, half the team will be rotated IMO

The same squad that got beat by Liverpool last time and battered by City? The whole squad needs changing. I think one of the main issues is not enough rotation. Those playing shit still play so have no motivation and those not playing think what's the point.

Pick a whole new squad and tell them if they do well they'll get a look in for the next match. This does two things, gets a good motivated team playing against Liverpool instead of a bunch of players who just got humiliated and think it's acceptable playing like that because they keep getting picked. And also gets the players that aren't picked here by picked last time motivation to train well to actually keep their place.

If we only see one or two changes I think that'll probably be the most disapointing thing about the season so far, because we may as well ditch half our squad if it isn't even going to be used in the Carling Cup.

It's not what I want but what I think will happen. If I could decide, Januzaj, Zaha, Kagawa, Cleverley, Fabio, Evans and maybe even Hernandez should all start, which makes it 6-7 changes.

6-7 changes is fine, but if we only make a couple of changes I think I'd be more worried than relieved (for the bigger picture).

My first game in the Stretty End! We can't lose 2x to them and also to City in the same month. The Suarez return does scare me a bit

Regardless of the result.... ENJOY!
My first ever game was a dull 0-0 v Arsenal, didnt go again for several months, then watched a mid-week 1-0 over Leeds.... and been hooked ever since. Great memories, make the most - and sing yer lungs out !!

Looking forward to this. Hoping for
Lindegaard
Rafael Evans Vidic Fabio
Carrick Cleverley
Zaha Kagawa Nani
Hernandez

With Zanuzaj to get a good half an hour. Can see Moyes going for something slightly stronger (perhaps Rooney instead of Hernandez), but I think Chicha plus Nani/Kagawa/Zaha really need some game time to remind us what they can do.

If Liverpool play their strongest team as expected and we make multiple changes and get knocked out I'll be so annoyed. It's the LC but could be our best chance of winning something this season along with the FAC. Any defeat to Liverpool in any competition is shit.

You don't want to lose to them even if it's a Charity Shield. 'It's only a LC/FA Cup' is only good excuse for the losing sets of fans in such games, see Arsenal 5 years ago. Their players didn't look as if it meant nothing to them after the game. Potentially a great platform to bounce back for us.

My team would be:

D de Gea - so far Lindegaard has not been on the bench due to injury and Amos isn't good enough

Evra - not the match I want Buttner in
Vidic - we need some presence back there
Evans - need to play
Valencia - Smalling was poor and with Valencia we can have a strong right-side

Carrick - with Fellaini cup-tied he has to play - I do not want 2 of Cleverley, Giggs or Anderson
Cleverley - my first choice as partner to Carrick

Nani - needs to play now
Rooney - on fire at the moment
Kagawa - see above

Hernandez - see Nani

Anderson, Buttner, Zaha, Januzaj at least - on the bench

I'd go with that but go for Smalling at CB for Vidic if he's fit and likewise Rafael/Fabio at full back if they're fit.

I don't care how sad it sounds, but the lads (whoever is picked) owe us fans a performance tonight after that crock of shite on Sunday. We normally bounce back, so I hope we do tonight!

We could do with spanking these shit twats by a 3 or 4 goal margin.

Nasty feeling we'll concede early, equalise late and it'll end up going either way in extra time or on pens.

The Dippers will field their strongest team, but they do have several injuries including Coutinho.

"In sports news, Brendan Rodgers has chosen his team for tonight's match: it's Manchester City."

Can see this dragging on to Extra time with the dippers sneaking it.

Liverpool have gone full strength! Suprise suprise

They'l be up for it, hope we are too. Please play a proper team.

The players are at Old Trafford, with Rooney, Giggs, Rafael, Jones, Januzaj among the matchday squad. #mufc team news shortly.

Edit: oops, too late.
