This may not be to everyone's liking, given the bias against anything resembling a 4-5-1, but I think this would be the best way to approach the Lille game especially since Carrick hasn't been at his best.
We need an extra body in the midfield to help our players out, and I'd prefer to have Giggs rested for this one after playing 90 mins against Liverpool. So that job would have to go to O'Shea, who is limited in that position but at least can do an okay job there. Hopefully that will also free up Scholes a bit so he can get forward more and hopefully into scoring positions.

I would too, but Larsson is only good for 20 minutes. If this was the first leg, I wouldn't mind having him on from the start, but seeing as how a 2-2 scoreline would warrant extra time, I want more than a max of 60 minutes from our starters.
