Manchester United Vs Manchester City.

I'm surprised Jones isn't starting at RB. If he's on the bench he's almost like an attacking option to bring on, wherever he plays. Can see him doing damage running through City late on.

Yaya Toure comes in for De Jong

I hope Ferdi has a good game. Recently I've been worried about Rio the way he got wrong footed by Adam last weekend...Fingers crossed. Shame there's no Cleverley even on the bench, Ando will have to have a monster of a game. Welbs over Chico? Ok I guess. Welbs has shown so far he's not afraid of the stage lights so good for him to get the nod and at least we have the option of sending Hernandez on in the second half if we need a goal.

vidic and carrick not on the bench either?

No Giggs and Cleverley either, bloody hell we have no cm on the bench.

Fletcher has been playing like absolute arse of late. He really needs to up his game for us not to get overrun. I worry about an Anderson-Fletcher pairing. Rooney will have to do some legwork today.

I agree this is United's worst CM pairing:nervous:

Fletcher and Anderson is not a good pairing.

Ok, so everyone getting the jitters from the Fletch-Ando combo I see ...

Add me to the list :nervous:

Fletch and Anderson as a midfield pairing is hardly confidence inspiring :nervous:

Would have much preferred to see Ando in there

Pleased to see Evans starting, he deserves it on the current form.

This. He seems to raise his game pretty well in the big clashes.

I've neer been entirely convinced by Fletcher - Anderson, and really I think Carrick deserves a spot on the XI based on his performance in Romania...unless he's injured?

Rooney will have to play pretty deep today with the CMs that we've gone for. And fletch needs to be at his very best else we'l be overrun in the middle.

Not really. Hernandez would come on regardless of who the other striker is if we need a goal.

Absolutely - but recent experience has proven that experience counts in derby games. Remember the Giggs pass to Owen for the last minute goal...

I'm slightly worried about lack of experience and naivety in our front 6 today - no Giggs, no Owen and no Scholes of course. That's a lot of experience to lose in a game like this.

I think a lot rests on Rooney and Fletcher - they both need to step up and take responsibility today.

Big disruption for City to have to change their holding midfielder and gives Rooney a big boost IMO.

Gives us a lot more space.

Didn't fergie say everyone is fit, or is he resting players again?

Fletcher/Anderson vs. Barry/Milner/Toure. Fletch better has one of his good games or we'll be in trouble in CM. Still confident though, looking at our attacking players and the back line. I'm also baffled Giggs isn't even in the squad, in a game like this his experience could have made the difference, even off the bench :nervous:

It's a good team but Ando and Fletcher will get overrun in the middle. We'll be relying on the wingers to make the chances.
