Manchester United vs. Newcastle United

Worrying we don't really have any options aside from Cleverley from the bench to change the flow of the game. I'd expect him to take over from Scholes on the hour mark.

Hernandez and RVP really need to get into the game and win this for us.

:p

Need to stop the injuries, but I still think a buy in midfield is needed in January. City will probably spend 100m.

Who?

Name one midfielder that will be available for a price reasonable compared to their level of talent who will not become surplus to requirements in the near future.

Someone better provide Chicharito with heating pads for his back from all the patting he ought to receive from Sir Alex Ferguson. Majestic performance to come from behind not once, not twice but thrice in the same match to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. The icing on the cake? City dropping points as the Reds go marching on with a seven point lead.

Bloody good win, but we really need to work on our defensive problems, newcastle hit the woodwork twice and could have easily got a result. But still a bloody good result!

3 points, I just hope we never see this midfield start again.

Actually, our problem continues to lie at the center of our back line.

Giggs was superb. Scholes was middling, not poor. The mids did their job today.

Not bad for a senile manager reliant on a pair of 40 year old midfielders?
Giggs put in a good shift, Scholes not so much. Cleverley's impact was imediately obvious.
Did I say they were shit? No, I said they shouldn't be starting matches together, and this could have very welly turned around the other way.
I love both Giggs and Scholes as a United fan, I just don't like Fergie over-relying on them so much.

The ref saw the tackle didnt he.. so no retrospective ban then..
Was a very poor one.

The offside goal still has me confused.. the handball wasnt given..
I thought we get those at OT... fecking Dean.

Great result....

We have been really fecking entertaining this season.. no question about that.
/Fergie

Just because the ref saw it and did nothing doesn't mean the FA won't either.
I thought that is basically how it works. No punishment is possible after the match if the ref has seen it and deemed it not worth the punishment at the time. Ref clearly saw the tackle and deemed it only a freekick.

Carrick cant play with Scholes anymore - he neds someone dynamic - he is a brilliant foil to a dynamic player.

.

Scholes off and its like carrick was a different player.

I hope Scholes never starts another game for United.

It will get better if Rio and Vidic get paired again.

Over relying? Half our squad was unavailable

You think logic comes into it with them? They're seeing that FFP is a load of shit, so nothing to stop them.

I increasingly feel like we could do with another winger TBH but maybe we should wait for Cristiano in the Summer :p

Phew what a game! Fergie will definitely face some FA action for that though. I really pity Collins, the sideline ref, everyone was having a go at him.

Our problems didnt stem from the centrebacks it was poor defending out wide as usual letting crosses into the box.

Hernandez was useless all game, thankfully he saved the evening for us, thanks man.

First of all, I said those things way before this match, second of all, don't you agree that Ferguson starts them too often in matches, I'm hardly saying they're solely at fault for our bad play sometimes, far from it, just that it usualy doesn't pan out great when they get too many minutes.

They're legends, and I wanna remember them as ones of the best that ever were, not as somebody you're usualy happy isn't in the team in a big game.
