Manchester United vs. Norwich City

Not all that arsed about who is picked and who isn't, but there really is no need to play Rio and Vidic.

No complaints about the back four. Only questionable pick in my opinion is Cleverley, but hopefully Giggs will have had a quiet, confidence-boosting word in his ear and he'll put in a good show. Mata was poor against Everton so no problem with him being dropped in favour of Shinji.
So was Shinji.

With Kagawa coming off the flank, Valencia keeping the width and Welbeck making darting runs into the left channel like he normally does, i'd hardly say it'll be a 4-4-2 when playing. It'll probably look something like:

Carrick
Cleverley - Kagawa
Valencia - Rooney - Welbeck
Big game for Cleverz. Hope he does well.

Valencia ahead of Nani?

Cleverley picked rather than playing 10 men?

Welbeck ahead of Mata?

Well, it is his first game in charge. 4-0 win

One of our best defensive performances was in the tie against Bayern when we drew 1-1, sure we played a defensive game but the centre back pairing that night was Ferdindand and Vidic. Both are probably playing their last few games for the club, don't see the issue. Giggs has had to play with and train against them since they were at the club, he knows them better than any of us.

Kinda odd that Adnan is not even on the bench. I would've gone with Smalling over Rio at CB.

No surprise, Giggs is all 442, should have started Mata and should have had Januzaj on the bench. Rooney not in form and still starts. Well good luck Giggsy but can't wait until LvG is confirmed.

If we can get the best out of them there'll be no need for laughing. Hope the team don't let us or Giggs down today.

I doubt you would be saying the same thing if Moyes had picked that team! And what does Valencia do in training to get picked so regularly. He is absolutely horrible most times on the pitch. Hope it does not backfire on Giggs.

I must be the only one excited about the reinstatement of the Rooney-Welbeck partnership. Bollocks to the who plays in the hole, who plays up front system.

It's not a decision I'd have made but I understand him leaving Mata out, he was atrocious against Everton. I wouldn't see it as Mata vs. Valencia as they offer completely different things, Mata's competition in this team would be against Rooney and Kagawa. Rooney's a goal threat even when he plays poorly and Kagawa was (slightly) better than Mata against Everton.

I'm more surprised at no Januzaj, but then the old guard really seem to rate Valencia.

A lot will depend on how deep Cleverley plays. Giggs has spent the last 3-4 years being the link between midfield and attack. I'm sure he's aware that that's kinda important.

Imagine if David Moyes started with Tom Cleverley, dropped Juan Mata to the bench and left Adnan Januzaj at home whilst Ashley Young and Nani are on the bench.

Should have played Adnan to give him the best chance to go to the world cup. The experience it would give him would be priceless for our next season.

Well he's made a big decision, let's see if it pays off.

We could have a packed midfield with Kagawa tucking in and Welbeck wide or we could see Welbeck up front with Rooney playing in the hole which would make more sense to drop Mata for today. With Valencia, Cleverly, Welbeck, and Rooney we should have plenty of energy but can they play football like they used to?

I'm surprised Januzaj is not on the bench, he's been the bright spot this season and is the epitome of our youth development ethos. Is Evans injured?

Says he wants to get back to the famous "United Way", yet picks someone like Valencia over Januzaj.

Can only laugh.

Let's see how the TEAM plays. I'm adopting this wait and see approach to everything United this summer. :D

Moyes would be slaughtered for that line up, not that it matters.

Feck it though, we'll see how they play.

Why what did Mirallas say?

Something about winging his way to the WC without kickin a ball for Belgium?

Yeah basically that he doesn't deserve to go, which I felt he had a point, but it wasn't for him to say, especially since it's pretty obvious that it is his own place under threat seeing as he's injured for the rest of the season.

For crying out loud...

Can't wait for a proper manager to take over. This season is over.
This is just Giggs' parting gift.

Shitty line up, that. Not sold on Rio-Vidic partnership and Cleverley in the midfield. :(
