Manchester United vs. Queens Park Rangers

----------------------DDG--------------------

Rafael---------Smalling-----Rio-----------Evra

------------------Carrick---------------------
------Cleverley-------------Anderson----------

Nani----------------RVP---------------Rooney

Ah ha, the Dream Team.... fat chance of seeing that. :(

i'd go with:

DDG
Rafa-Smalling-Rio-Evra
Cleverley-Scholes-Carrick
Welbeck-RVP-Rooney

no doubt saf will throw a curve ball in there, i wonder if Jones may play again, possibly right back given how much football rafas played lately and the potential focus on set pieces from qpr. he'll pick one of Valencia/Young too i reckon

reckon saf will go:
DDG
Jones-Smalling-Rio-Evra
Valencia-Scholes-Carrick-Nani
RVP-Rooney

rangers are god awful, usually i'm wary of teams in such bad form pulling a performance of a lifetime out their arse against utd but i cant see any possiblities of that this time. think the rangers players want hughes out and wont try until they get their way.

hopefully we'll put them to the sword and rack up some goals but i think a routine 2 or 3 nill is most likely

I'm expecting a ruthless United this Saturday

As for the team

De Gea

Smalling
Evans
Jones
Evra

Carrick
Cleverley
Anderson

Valencia
Rooney
RVP

If the aggression is there then we will win big

You prefer Evans to Smalling? Not for me.

Really?

I think both are susceptible to mistakes, but for me Evans is far superior in marking and reading the game.

It may well be that in the future Smalling and Evans will form a partnership, but while it's one or the other, I prefer Evans.

On the other hand, Fergie may think...QPR? Easy game. Play Smalling to give him more game time.

Or even, rest Rio and play Smalling AND Evans!

Team should be...

GK: De Gea

RB: Rafael
CB: Smalling
CB: Ferdinand
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Welbeck

CF: Rooney
CF: RVP

Subs: Lindegaard, Jones, Evans, Cleverley, Anderson, Young, Hernandez

De Gea

Rafael
Evans
Smalling
Evra

Carrick
Cleverley
Anderson

Batman and Robin
Chicharito

It looks good. Rest Rio and don't play out of form wingers.

Scholes and Giggs didn't play midweek so I guess one will play again.

Rafael
Smalling
Rio
Evra
Valencia
Scholes
Carrick
Nani/Young
RVP
Rooney

I want us to smash them. I very strongly dislike this club, despite Park and Fabio being there, and I just hope we tear them a new arsehole. In any case, I hope we line up in a dynamic fashion (i.e. not 4-4-2 with Carrick + Scholes/Giggs) and we have a real go at them.

Think Carrick and Rafael may be rested. Why make them play 3 games in a week just yet when we have squad depth? - Norwich defeat not withstanding. Scholes needs a game too to keep fresh.

I'd be happy with

DdD
Jones, Smalling, Rio, Evra
Scholes, Cleverley,
Valencia, Rooney, Welbeck
RVP

Should be very fresh and easily deliver a hammering.

Rafael doesn't need resting, and I really don't want to see Jones at RB.

The side I'd like:

De Gea
Rafael---Smalling---Ferdinand---Evra
Carrick
Cleverley---Anderson
Rooney
RVP---Welbeck

Tactics: feck. Them. Up.

I like this.

This is probably the sort of game that Scholes should be starting for us - a soft home game where he will expect time and space to dictate. With our wingers off form and with Anderson and Cleverley pushing for a start, then perhaps Scholes could play in the Pirlo role for this one.

De Gea
Rafael---Smalling---Ferdinand---Evra
Scholes
Cleverley---Anderson
Rooney
RVP---Welbeck

That team should play some fluid football. We don't necessarily need a DM for this, and Carrick hasn't been great anyway.

I'd be surprised though. I imagine it'll be 442 with Young and Valencia. If so, hopefully they use it as an opportunity to snap out of their ruts and hit some form. QPR are there to be taken.

SAF will play this team:

--------------De Gea------------------
Smalling-------Rio-----Jones------Evra
Valencia----Scholes----Carrick----Young
----------Rooney------RVP------------

I'd love to see:

DDG
Rafael Rio Evans Evra
Carrick Cleverley
Nani Rooney Welbeck
RVP

Whatever he may say in public, I hope Fergie's as pissed off about the way they capitulated to City as we are, and intends to deal out some retribution. If we manage to actually start well for once, I'd like to see us keep at it, 100%, for 90 minutes, and feck resting people. Don't let them see the ball all game and rip them a new one.

Nah QPR at home is much easier than Norwich away (who were on a decent roll when we went there as well). We're due a game with loads of goals (for us), hope it's this one.

A big win for us, a draw between City and Chelsea and us hammering in the final nail to Hughes' proverbial coffin should make it a good weekend.

He's back in training, but the decision on if Park plays will be decided by the QPR doctors:

When was the last time we properly battered someone in terms of goals? The 8 against Arsenal obviously, but since then I can't remember many 4s or 5s.

Wigan 4-0 this season. Newcastle 3-0 this season, although could have been more.

Agree though we really need a punchbag match where we can take out our disappointment on a team. Perfect opportunity.

I like your thinking, rowem.

I've got nothing against Carrick, but I'd like to see him sit this out one out. Give the dynamic mids a chance to play with the Batman and Robin, and with the Grand Master Paul Scholes himself, and see what they can do.

I vastly prefer Smalling to Evans, but if it's Evans that's fine with me. Although Smalling has gotten muscled on a few occasions since his return, he's quickly proven himself. Another option is to drop Rio for this one, provided Evans is fit.

Let it rip. Show no mercy to Sparky, who although was a great servant to the red shirt just doesn't seem to have what it takes to manage a top football club. Or a bottom one, for that matter.

Well thats really something... Watching QPR fans celebrating City scoring against them to deny us the league (Like we are their Nemesis?)

Anyway... good to see they are still reaching for the stars eh!

would love that. not gonna happen

I'd like to see this also. Or maybe Scholes in for Carrick.

Wayne Rooney has been passed fit for Manchester United's home Barclays Premier League game with QPR following a bout of tonsillitis.

The England striker sat out last weekend's defeat at Norwich due to the problem and was rested for the Champions League tie away to Galatasaray but Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed he was fit to return at his regular press conference on Friday morning.

The Scot also said Chris Smalling was fit for action following a shoulder problem, and that defender Jonny Evans was training again but would not feature against QPR.
