Manchester United VS Reading

Fergie on Xmas eve on Carrick
Thursday, December 28, 2006

"Michael did some light training yesterday and reports that he will be out for a month are nonsense. He will be ready for Reading."

Big boost if he makes it

Hopefully:

van der Sar
Neville - Rio - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - O'Shea - Giggs - Park
Rooney - Saha

same as last time with the exceptions of rio and giggs for the sus'd players (in those positions as well). bench change of carrick in place of richardson. save nev , saha , ronaldo and carrick if possible for the away match.

-VDS-

Neville Ferdinand Brown Heinze

Park Fletcher O'Shea Ronaldo

Saha Solskjaer/Smith

Subs:
Kuszczak
Evra
Giggs
Solskjaer/Smith
Rooney

Vidic and Scholes are suspended so why does everyone keep including them in their starting XI?

Agree, and why do they want Giggs to play this game? If he plays he will not play at St James.
I rather play Giggs at St James on monday then against Reading on saturday.

Good team, agree with you on everything except for maybe Alan. Would like to see Ole again upfront with Rooney.

:)

ronaldo o'shea rooney giggs

saha ole

ROONEY TO REPLACE SCHOLES (long term solution!)

I'd leave Rooney out and rest him. Probably Heinze for Evra at LB

Yeah I think that would be the best team to play. But I think Brown will play right back with Silvestre playing at CB alongside Rio.

Coppell said he fancies us to go and win the title and doesn't expect us or chelski to drop points.

Will Coppell rest any player? They have an important game after this, against West Ham United at home.

Not sure what team we will play obviously with a game 2 days later and a tough one at that there will be changes to the side but hopefully no more than 3 or 4.

VDS

Brown - Ferdinand - Silvestre - Heinze

Ronaldo - Fletcher - O'shea - Park

Saha - Solsjkaer

2-1 in a hard fought win..

I'm glad some of you arn't picking the team

People forget that it's not just us who have the two games in three days

So no Fletcher - O'Shea midfield thank god.

I wouldnt say that, m/f will proberly be Ronaldo, O'Shea/Fletcher, Carrick, Park

I'd be playing Giggs, Rio, Neville, Rooney and Ronaldo from the start against Reading and Newcastle, we're a genuine four points clear, if we win the next couple of games and Chelsea drop anything, at a time where they're missing Terry and Cech, the gap would be at least 6 points and effectively 7 with goal difference. That's a mighty lead to have at this stage, and one which Chelsea may choke on. Everyone goes on about how strong Chelsea's squad is, but the fact always remains - if you lose one or two of your key players, your not the same team and it weakens you greatly.

You wouldn't say that but you just did

I was talking about having a centre midfield that isn't Fletcher and O'Shea together. Just like the one you posted in fact.

My mistake i thought you meant no fletcher or o'shea period

Apologies :)

Would it be enaugh for Carrick to play for about 60 minutes tomorrow and then start against Newcastle on monday and play 90 minutes?

Yes the best possible line-up.

Whats the likelyhood of Giggs playing, I need him to score at least twice for me to win a bet that I made in October.

Bench will be the same as at Wigan.

He can't play Neville or Vidic. We need to start off with Evra for the attacking edge. I think Ronaldo will come on as a sub, definitely not play 90 minutes, no Scholes. Park needs to get match fit and Rooney needs his first touch back. Giggs probably won't play as he needs rest and will probably figure in most of our games over the next few weeks.

My line up

------------------VDS------------------
Wes----------Rio-------Gabby------Evra
Park-------Carrick-----Fletch----Ronaldo
-------------Rooney----Saha-----------

3-0 for United with Rooney, Ronaldo and Park scoring.

Did you mean Scholes or is Neville out as well?

It has been reported by The Sun that Neville is injured and will be out for 6 weeks. Whether it's true or not remains to be seen.

I cannot believe we have to play Sly because we have no back-up RB besides Brown. Reharded.

VDS

Brown Rio Sly Evra

Fletch Carrick O'Shit Parky

Saha Rooney

Ronaldo to save us again coming in at the half.

Surprisingly spare amount of interest about this game.

Lineups anyone?
