Manchester United vs Roma

we're currently a team in search of a formula according to Bill O'Herlihy on RTE

maybe he's right.....

Nani has been quite effective on the wings, always switching sides with Ronnie. Best chance created in the first half was with Nani beating their full back and putting a good cross in for Rooney to volley over. He needs to do more of that, running at pace down the flanks at fullbacks and supplying the width.

When he moves with the ball, great. Too many times he's stood with the ball at his feet and given away possession. Don't quite understand it.

Saha/Rooney is not working any better than Tevez/Rooney.

I think the main problem with both those pairings at the moment is Rooney.
He's just not on the top form this season.
Rooney OUT Tevez IN

Its' time for Anderson to show us deluded cnuts whether he is the next ronaldinho or not...

Very disappointing, but its expected the way we are playing this season, very slow tempo, absolutely no imagination.... we should increase the tempo...

hope they get thier bollocks straightened out....

I agree with one point of you. Our tempo is really DAMN slow, dont know why.

Hooray for negative feckwits.

Ok,We are playing like the best team ever. Our passing is better than I have ever seen.We should have been 10-0 up but only for the stupid ref and linesman who have ruled out every single goal just for fun.

First half was as I figured it would be. It was never going to be a 7-1 thrashing again. We've yet to kick it into high gear. We're using the width this game, something we haven't been doing much of this season.

i dont think i am watching the same game as many others on here...
we are in fine control against a very tight determined roma..
are people upset because we are not wasting them 7-1 again..
we have had a few good chances and we look as though we could get a result if we persist.
i personally dont think giggs is the answer in this game, but i think hargreves for scholes and fergie should tell carrick to shoot more..
maybe tevez for saha at 60mins

Dunphy on RTE - Nani isn't going to be a player, contribution nothing, the contrast in quality between Utd's youngsters and Arsenals is huge - there's no contest.

The word inconsistent was made for Nani tonight, flashes of utter brilliance and a great end product mixed in with constantly having the ball nicked away from him and giving it away

Easy to say now but this game was made for Tevez, Saha should of been kept on the bench

Scholes needs to be subbed. He's been non existant.

Get all our forwards to RUN, and we may actually start getting somewhere, otherwise we're doomed for another drab second half performance of jogging :S

It's strange.

Me and some others seem to think we are doing alright, others seem to think otherwise and reckon we've been poor.

First half's had mixed opinions.

I think we've played well we just need to up the pace

i think we have been poor to an extent

movement off the ball looks sub standard

Tevez needs to come on for Rooney or Saha.

And Scholes needs to start playing.

I think we will do well then.

Thats what Im saying we aint playing bad, but we just seem to not run enough. Nani and Ronnie have run their legs off but what about scholes? His passes arent bad, but I think he can do more. He often had space but never used it and played long-range-passes.

Does Scholes just not have the legs now days to run his ass off for 90 minutes? I think it's SAF's decision to have him stay deeper that's affecting his game.

Every time Rooney or Saha goes down, my heart begins to beat very quickly indeed.

People seem to forget that Roma are a good team, and the fact that most of the time they play 4-6-0, it means that Scholes and Carrick had to work very hard in the first half. We started at pedestrian pace but we were picking up the tempo towards the end of the half. Nani's been good while Saha is starting to get into the game. I reckon we'll snatch this by a goal.
