Manchester United vs. Southampton

The midfield was over ran because we had two "wide" players coming inside to help and their fullbacks we pushing on.

By swapping Nani for Kagawa as I suggested you stretch the play, force their fullbacks back and make the midfield battle less cluttered and a lot fairer. The last thing you want is their fullbacks adding width and them getting bodies in the box for them to target.

There's more to a game than keeping a player on the pitch because he looks lively with the ball.

The smart thing to do is bring on Cleverley to bring a proper balance and energy into the center of the midfield, which is where we were getting dominated, which ultimatley effected us in every area. You don't take off your best performing player for a player like Nani, who so far has changed NOTHING what so ever to the way the game was being played.

We needed a player to take control of the game, that player is never going to be Nani.

feck me, we're inviting this on. How long can we hold out? Why is Jones in midfield?

Southampton deserve a point here. Well, we deserve to drop two. Terrible second half performance. You can't afford to switch off with one goal advantage against anyone, and we've switched off.

Our players should be embarrassed by this second half performance.

Crazy why he didn't shoot.

This has been horrid viewing. But a good test of chasing the ball and giving it away.

If we defend any deeper De Gea will be wearing Rio's lips in a minute.

hanging on for dear life.

Suppose we were due a poor performance.

fecks sake, it's as if we're up against Barcelona.

again and again and again...4-2 up with 7 minutes left against everton. never learn. pathetic.

Stop trying to fecking flick it over their heads and keep the fecking ball!

That knobber who just headed it looks like Powell.

Thought he was on loan there for a split second!

with all due respect we're playing Southampton not some world beating team. If the linesmen doesn't feck up, we'd be winning 3-1. We're struggling because all night we've been sloppy baring one or two players.

Jesus christ we have 10 men camped in our own box holding on for dear life. It's fecking Southampton.

Fergie's subs were reasonable, but he missed the glaringly obvious one which was Cleverley on for Anderson. Even after the first half, in which we were mostly pretty good, that one was crying out to be made.

Will we keep the ball for a minute? Will we feck.

You completely miss the point. Putting Cleverley in for Anderson wouldn't make a blind bit of difference because the game has barely been played in the centre. You need to make a change to win the battle in the area's it is being played before addressing the area you would like it to be played. That is basic tactics.

If you don't want to argue with me, take it up with Fergie, he recognised exactly what I did and made the change I suggested.
