Where were you to make our thread for the city game :(
Might as well just batter the feck out of them and hope for the best, you never know we might get 7 or 8 and close the gap on goal difference

This but with Berba CB and Fabio LB.

If City beat Newacastle we'll probably mess this one up or sneak a win.

We can bribe Swansea by signing Gylfi and loaning him back to Swansea for next season.

We need someone dropping into midfield against Swansea because they're VERY good at keeping the ball.

de Gea

Rafael
Ferdinand
Evans
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Scholes
Nani

Rooney
Welbeck

SUBS: Amos, Jones, Smalling, Young, Giggs, Berbatov, Hernandez.

All out, we have to score five or six at least regardless of the City result.

10-0 United

It'll be a pretty pointless match if City win at Newcastle. If they don't do though, this is crucial.

City are going to be playing with renewed confidence. There is no way they will lose to Newcastle. But we must do what we can and win. We should win big!

If we don't win this game the team really deserves some lashing. No reason why we shouldn't play well and destroy them.

if city beat Newcastle we need to try and thrash Swansea. Its highly unlikely but its the only option. Hopefully city would only win buy the odd goal. If thats the case wed need to win by 7 or 8 to have a chance on the final day.

As i wrote all of the above I realized how unlikely it is.
City beat Newcastle and its over

Team should be...

GK: De Gea

RB: Rafael
CB: Evans
CB: Ferdinand
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Nani

CF: Rooney
CF: Welbeck

Subs: Amos, Jones, Giggs, Cleverley, Young, Hernandez, Berbatov

They'll be goals but ultimately not enough after City beat Newcastle, I'll go 4-2 to United

DDG

Carrick

Scholes

Young
Valencia
Nani

Berbatov
Rooney
Welbeck
Hernandez
Owen

Balls-out: Eleventy-Nil

Assuming Newcastle prove themselves useless:

De Gea
Rafael---Smalling---Ferdinand---Evra
Carrick---Scholes
Berbatov
Nani---Chicharito---Rooney

... and feck them as hard as possible. The title is gone for absolute definite if Newcastle fail us (as they most likely will) so risk dropped points chasing a landslide win - at least this would have the potential to be entertaining

But if City drop points then go with the usual line-up and try to get to 2-0 up before going uber-defensive and seeing the game out

EDIT: Seems Welbeck is injured, so Berba comes in (Will Keane replaces him on the bench?)

Will they bother to show up to this match? Maybe they stayed in Wales so getting to Swansea wouldn't be such a long trip.

Yeah lets just go for it, put on all our strikers and shit and just have fun if Newcastle lose. Get as many goals as possible, fix a few matches.

We're at home here..

Anyways, how funny would it be if Newcastle lose 1-0 but we end up setting a record and win 10-0, giving us a superior goal difference
Won't happen I know, but apart from city dropping points that is the only chance we have. An early red card for them and an early goal, giving us complete domination and we just need to keep going like our lives depend on it. I'd hate to lose out on the title on goal difference, looking back at all those 1 or 2-0 wins at home where we scored early then let off, or the game away to wolves where we were 5-0 up at around the 50th minute. We could have scored so much more in certain games but we let off, let's just give it a go and hope for the best.

Also instruct the players to start diving in the penalty area in the last 10 minutes regardless of the score - the individual players should only stop diving if they receive a yellow for a particularly bad effort

If by some chance Newcastle do get something against City, then we know a win for us would take us back top with one match remaining.

Berbatov should start. He does well at OT against teams like this. I could see him scoring a few goals.

As I said earlier though, it all rests on the City match before we kick off. If Newcastle get something, then a win for us is all that matters. If City win, just go for broke against Swansea.

Just thrash them.

Can see a 1-0 win, similar to our game against Sunderland in 2010 with a subdued performance and crowd due to an earlier result essentially ending our title hopes. Not expecting any mysterious back passes though.

If (when) City beat Newcastle... I don't see what we have to lose by properly going all out, guns blazing, in this game... Swansea looked shocking defensively against Wolves at the weekend, and, according to our last game against them, we're approximately 5 goals better then Wolves are, thus, based on this incredibly sound logic, we should be able to beat Swansea 9-0.

May as well play Berbatov and give him a proper send off. He's also very good at keeping hold of the ball and we'll need as much possession as possible in this game as Swansea are ruddy good at keeping the ball.

Swansea keep the ball very well, so we'll need to press them in their half like animals for us to win by the kind of scores that are being mentioned.

10-0 and it'll be ON

Can you imagine? RAWK and Blue Moon would implode. 10-0 after an early sending off for Swansea and about 5 dubious penalties would be just the ticket.

With Sunderland v United next week and six Brown's own goals, five O'Shea's and three Richardson's.

Interested to see how we approach this game, the players know that absolutely thumping Swansea will see them go top. I'd love to see us just go all out and honestly try and win 13-0 or some shit.
