Manchester United vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Nani should have gotten a pen, didn't but handled the ball. Clattenburg didn't call the handball, Gomes thought he did and put the ball down. Nani went and got it and scored.

It was awesome.

Justice in the end but spastic decision not awarding a free kick after Nani held the ball. It was either Penalty or FK, never resumed play... Ridiculous.

ESPN commentators cant make there minds up. They admit it was a penalty but then follow by saying Spurs are hard done to :s

from BBC website for those still wondering...

Replays show Heurelho Gomes thinks Spurs have been awarded a free-kick when Nani handles claiming for that penalty and that's why he placed the ball down in the area. However, it would appear equally as clear referee Mark Clattenburg - rightly or wrongly - didn't give the handball so, in effect, the Brazilian has put the ball back in play. Controversial.

What teh feck is this commentary "not sure if it was in the spirit of the game"... If it wasn't a fecking free kick, it was completely fine what Nani did. Gomez was the daft cnut that didn't bother to check with the officials.

This. If the opposition keeper throws the ball out to you and stands there in open play, you aren't supposed to say 'did you mean to do that my good chum before I roll the ball into the net or are you just being a bit of a twonk?'

Spirit of the game my arse, Gomes fecked up and that's all there is to it.

Its a clear goal: nani's penalty claim was denied, the game was not stopped and so the ball remained in play. Gomoes then put the ball onto tje floor, but the ball is in play so nani shot a 'live' ball.

Anyway, its justice done for a bl;atenmt penalty that Nani should have been awarded.

If this means the demotion of the officials, then I'm all for it. They're useless.

Can't blame Clattenburg for not seeing the handball since he had United players screaming at him to his face. That's probably what the linesman commented on but wasn't 100% sure so the safest bet for Clattenburg was to call it a goal.

Spurs still arguing, as if they would have got anything out of the game.

Why should it be a freekick? Gomes had the ball after Nani handball, so the ref was right to play advantage. The fact he stupidly put it down and stepped backwards is all his problem.
