rafael---------vidic---------------evans------------evra
nani--------carrick--------------fellaini------------kagawa
------------rooney--------------hernandez---------------

subs: amos, ferdinand, jones, cleverley, valencia, van persie, welbeck

Yeah same, would like to see that though wouldn't mind welbeck wide for kagawa either.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think Januzaj will get a start here.

Would love to see him get a start. It should be a game we dominate realistically, so it would be good for him, as he seems so eager to be involved with play, and always wants to be where the ball is. He should see plenty of it and show us what he can do.

How about this then? If RvP isn't yet fit:

DDG
Raphael Smalling Vidic Evra
Carrick Fellani
Valencia Kagawa Nani
Rooney

If RvP is fit then a 'fluid' three of Kagawa/Rooney/Nani with RvP up top.

Hernandez will surely play a part in the 2nd half either way.

I think it looks likely. Given that Moyes nearly started him against Palace, where he came on and made a big impression, then he should be in line to start here as all our other wide players have had a start over the last week. He wasn't involved for the reserves tonight so I'm guessing he's going to start, unless he's injured.

----Rafael----------------Vidic------------Evans-----------Evra-----

----Zaha----------------Carrick--------Fellaini-------------Nani-----

---------------------------------------Kagawa--------------------

------------------------------Rooney----------------------------

Subs: Amos, Rio, Cleverly, Januzaj, Ando, RVP, Hernandez
Prediction: 4-1 Rooney hattrick, Zaha

If Van Persie is injured then Hernandez should surely start after yesterday, needs way more game time

It's about time we saw a hint of Zaha I think. Maybe Moyes will do a Fergie and change the team up completely.

I'd love to see Zaha and Nani play, particularly with West Brom's full 120 mins against Arsenal. Players who'll stretch them.

If Kagawa can't get a game in the league, Januzaj will be a long shot.

Certainly prefer us with RVP usually but I wouldn't mind it if he was out for just one more game. Hernandez deserves another start and this is no Mexican hero fetish thing, he just deserves another start!

DDG
Fabio - Vida - Evans - Evra
Carrick - Fellaini
Valencia - Rooney - Welbeck
Chicharito

RvP, Rafael, Nani and Kagawa will play in Donetsk.

Expect to see:

de Gea
Rafael Vidic Evans Evra
Carrick Fellaini
Valencia Rooney Nani
Hernandez

Amos; Smalling, Jones; Cleverley, Kagawa; Welbeck, van Persie

I hope Young doesn't manage to find a place, and Giggs will be left out after playing the full game against Liverpool.

It might be Smalling who keeps his place over Evans, and he was probably our best defender against Liverpool. If it is, then it'll probably be Ferdinand and Evans against Shaktar. The other option is Smalling goes to Right Back in Shaktar and Ferdinand replaces Vidic (although he'll probably replace Evans). I think now is the time to be rotating our defence a fair bit as we should be winning our next five Premier League games and not losing to Shaktar away (and beating Sociedad at home).

Moyes might rather start RvP and replace him after an hour, but I think Hernandez deserves another start so I'd do it the other way around and play Robin in the Champions League.

Might wack Rooney into my fantasy team, what with the way he's playing at the moment.

Pretty much this lineup. If it is touch and go with RvP, better to keep him on bench and ensure he starts in Donetsk.

If RvP is out I expect the same team that started at the Etihad, with Rafael coming in for Smalling.

If Young gets a start we have to be asking some serious questions of our Moysey

To be honest, with a tough trip midweek. At home to WBA, I wouldn't be too disappointed to see Young used. Well no, I lie, I would be disappointed but I would rather him play on Saturday than midweek.

Rafael----Smalling----Evans----Fabio
--------Carrick-----------Fellaini------
----Zaha--------Kagawa------Nani---
-----------------Chicarito-------------

Good game to let Carrick/Fellaini get game-time together as well as bringing in the players who needs more games. 4-1.

Robin is fit according to Moyes. I'm guessing he will play.

Will be hard for Hernandez who definitely deserves some starts.

From the presser:

Van Persie and Cleverley could feature against WBA: "Robin will be back involved somewhere. He has trained today. Whether we use him, whether we don't he is back fit. Tom has done a bit of training today as well. His injury is not too serious. He sort of rocked his knee in training and we were a bit worried, but he's had no reaction from it. He's done some training today and won't be too far away tomorrow as well."

Seems to be fit, but from Moyes' wording I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the bench. To be honest, Id be happy to see Hernandez get another chance.

Why not give Rooney a rest? He's been all guns blazing for us these few weeks.

Could always play Robin behind Chicharito, it's a pairing that worked last season. I know Rooney's form is excellent atm but he's played a lot of consecutive games lately and will be useful fresh for Donetsk.

I hope for:

DDG
RAFAEL----SMALLING----VIDIC----BUTTNER
CARRICK----FELLAINI
NANI--------ROONEY-------JANUZAJ
HERNANDEZ

Why give a player who is in form a rest?
I don't get this "rest players" stuff if they are good enough and they are fit then play them, this is a competitive league lets not piss about.
Taking 3 maybe 4 players out for league cup or Fa cup is fine, I don't like when we change 8-9 players, and I don't buy into this shit about players not being able to play 2-3 games a week.
Chelsea over the years change very little yet still remain at the near the top.

Gary Neville mentioned the philosophy with Rooney is that if he is playing well then just keep playing him, if Gaz Nevs privvy to such information then you would hope DM is too, I feel he will play.

no chance whatsoever that Rooney will be rested. That'd be madness!
I'm sure Fergie has stressed to Moyes that Rooney once he gets his head of steam up is not droppable for any game.

Hoping VP starts, mostly for fantasy footy reasons if I'm being honest!! I'm sure Hernandez will do a good job otherwise

------------DDG----------------
Rafael-- Evans---Vidic--Evra
--------Carrick Fellani--------
Valencia- Kagawa---- Nani
-----------Rooney-------------

assuming RVP is rested/recovering

subs: Keeper, Chicharito, Cleverley, Zaha, Januzaj, Rio, Smalling

possibly harsh on Hernandez but Moyes needs to give Kagawa a game in number 10 - I'd like to see him come on as a sub with Zaha/Januzaj getting a run out

I think I'd prefer to see Kagawa play on the left for a run of games. I know no.10 is his best position but, let's be honest, he's never gonna play there regularly while Rooney is at the club.

Rooney needs to keep playing. All of his best runs of form have come when he is playing all the time, injury free, drama free.

Hope this team:

De gea

Rafael
Vidic
Evans
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Kagawa
Nani

Rooney
RVP

Obviously Kagawa as a central midfielder along side Carrick is maybe a risk, but they are bloody good so why not, Carrick/Scholes was terrific.

After Leverkusen and before the derby, Valencia was the in form player, but after one bad performance this year he's not "good enough to play for United" on the cafe...
Still IMO a really good player and our best winger...But I think Nani has more talent and Zaha has potential to be a stand out player.

he should play. we have yet to enter october and this is not a period where you give a rest to your players.

if the team is strolling and have a decent lead by the stroke of an hour, then maybe we can withdraw him and get him ready for the midweek champions league tie.
