Why spend £27 million on a player who is only going to play well against the poorer teams? Surely we should be looking for a midfielder who can do that as well as perform well in the big games, after all, our aspirations shouldn't be fourth!
I don't know we paid that kind of money for Fellaini, ask the board....
Why hire Moyes when you could have had Mourinho, Klopp, Simeone, Ancelotti or someone else ?
Why did Ferguson bring back scholes when he had Pogba to play in the midfield and could have solved so many issues that day ?
Why did we insist on getting a 31 year old RVP but refused to pay a couple of millions more for Hazard ?
Why did we not spend the cash on Modric and Bale when they weren't on the radar of Real Madrid ?
Why didn't we go for Yaya Touré when he was available at Barca ?
Why didn't we spend €60m on aquiring Thiago Silva and Ibrahimovic when they were for sale at Milan ?
Why didn't we get verratti when he was available for cheap at pescara but only became interested when he was at PSG ?
and so on and so on
The answer is this club makes mistakes, sometimes big ones, and they are not the only one in this.
Nobody here is claiming Fellaini is a £27.5M player, no one ! Yet some on here are claiming he isn't even a £10m player, and that is wrong. There is no need to go on and on about his price tag, its the price we paid for an absolutley miserable summer, blame Moyes and Woodward for that, it seemed like they only got in action when the summer was as good as over. It was a true disaster and handled so amateurish, it is a big fat stain on the reputation of a club like United. But just because Fellaini was the result of this, there is no reason to threat him like desease or something.
It is maybay a weird comparrison but it reminds me a bit about a married husband making a child with another women. Than the women he is married with sort of forgives him and sucks it all up but still hates the guts of that child that was born. That hate is really a sick hate, because it is not about who that child is or what he does but about where he came from and he can't change that.
The hate I see for Fellaini feels a bit like that, the guy can't change the fact United bought him and paid £27.5m, yet people seem to hate his guts for it. Ofcourse some people on here are trying to make it look like his the worst player on the planet and that is the reason why they can't stand him, but that is is ridiculous, he isn't the worst player on the planet. He isn't even the worst player in the team or the worst midfielder we have. In fact he is actually been one of the better midfielders we have had this season. Yet some people are still hating his guts while not being nearly as critical about other players in the team (bar maybay Young). Sure thing Cleverley got a fair bit of stick when big Fella was injurred and alot of people seeingly forgot he even existed. Now that he is back and he is actually playing quite decent, maybay not against City and Pool (nobody was) but he was against WB, Palace and so on, people are still bashing him like he is the worst thing since aids. That isn't normal behavior, people have an agenda against him, people love to hate him, some people are looking at him and hopping he does bad so they can come on here and trash him some to proof their point about him being absolutley bad. They want to make him a scapegoat for everything that is wrong this team and everything that is wrong with Moyes and that is phatetic.
Why can't there be a reasonable view on him ? it is like for some he is either the worst thing since aids or he must be the best midfielder on the planet. Why can't he just be decent and ok ? He deserves some criticism, just like other players deserve it, but Fellaini just gets way too much off it and the criticism is often unreasonable aswell.
