I was laughing whole time when he just stood there at corner flag and easily ticked 2.5 minutes or so out of 4.

Second time we've brought him on to do that job and on both occasions he's done it brilliantly. It's not what we paid the money for but it does come in handy!

I've always liked him. The only issue seems to be the man who spent £30m odd on him, who managed him for years prior to him coming here, doesn't seem so sure.

Obviously he can be useful. We just need to find him good roles on the pitch.

Trolling the opposition. Check.

Best performance so far, and I'm only partly taking the piss. At the end of the day for 5 vital minutes he was our most important player and literally did his job perfectly.

Thought he played an excellent cameo performce for the last 5 mins. Really helped us get over the line.

Darren Fletcher got substituted in before him. I mean seriously guys I'm happy that he looks better in recent weeks but if you compare it to Witsel today it's really laughable that we bought him.

But he certainly is world class at time wasting and stopping the ball with the chest.

When we sort this squad out he could be a decent option from the bench in a number of roles. Wrecking ball centre forward, extra midfield presence or erm... Time waster.

Did the only thing he is good for, i.e. nuisance value up front and did the job perfectly.

Giggs just proved have bad our midfield has been this season. Carrick, Cleverley and Fellaini should be suitably embarrassed after watching that performance.

Well done, Inanimate Carbon Rod! ;)

27 million to run the ball to the corner. To be honest, at the moment I will take that.

 Some man for one man.

I thought it was hilarious... he kept trying to sneak away from the corner of the pitch, but then Giggs would tell him to get back there and do his job... which Fellaini for some reason didn't want to do, and yet he did it really well... until he decided he wanted to go back into the box, and would lose the ball.

It was the most confused 5 minute cameo I've ever seen from a United player.

This.

I had been so nervous for the previous 20 minutes or so - seeing him holding the ball up like that just made me laugh and totally relieved the nervousness.

He came on and did the job that was needed. People here need to stop whinging.

If we are to get far in this tournament, Fellaini and his somewhat unique threat will be key for us I think. It is clear that we are very unlikely to 'out-football' any of the teams left in the tournament. That said, I can see Fellaini getting a key goal or two if we progress, and doing a very useful hold up job if we get a lead to protect. Similar to what Drogba did last year for Chelsea.

If we could get a lead and had to defend for 20mins, having him as a target could be vital.

Still not as good a time wasting partner for Giggs as Beckham was. Those two had it down to an art.

Nice thought, but thus far he's shown all the attacking threat of a dickless rapist.

who would have thought his skills would have been so good eh

Aye, for all the (justifiable) piss-taking about the limited nature of his contribution you'd have to admit that he did show some tidy footwork.

He actually skinned his man with a lovely bit of skill at one point and almost had a free run into the box.

True, but players step up at different stages. We've seen him for long enough to know he has an attacking threat. He has scored goals against us! I think continental teams could struggle with him in the air.

Settling in nicely now, although many of our match day posters dont seem to agree.

He has been good now for about 3 or 4 games and looking far more comfortable

He seems to want to give away a penalty and 3-4 needless fouls every game. He's been OK apart from that though.

I like him. Sure he's no Vidal or Schweinsteiger and he's a bit clumsy but he's actually not bad at all.

I usually talk him up but not great today IMO. Ref's giving a lot of soft fouls against him but he's not winning/directing headers as well as you'd expect and his touch has been a bit off.

Not terrible, though. Some good moments. Hoping for a better second half.
