MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

Anyone think this kinda fecks up our chances of a PL title?

The Glazers have ruined us. Our days at the top are over. If we can't hold onto one of Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo then it shows that we are financially screwed no matter what that gimp Gill says.
Nani will want out to Barcelona come the summer next when we don't sign good enough players to keep him happy. I can't see Fergie sorting this issue out. The club is too fecked even for Fergie to get us out the hole we are heaing for.

Wow. Just wow.

Firstly, any single non-United supporter could have told you that Rooney's an absolute cnut. Though this whole saga, as it has surely become now, is baffling to me.

Why would he want to leave? I can't think of any reason beyond wanting a new challenge or had a massive falling out with Ferguson... Surely he's not just after big cash, I mean when you're earning (what?) 80-120k a week you're laughing. As if 150+k is going to make any difference to your standard of living when you've been earning that much for so long.

Something's really rotten here.

On a side note - I love how Ferguson refers to him as 'the boy.' Respect is earned Rooney.

Well, he did go to City.

Do you have a boner for Tevez? A player who talked shit for months about SAF, constantly complained in the media, and then fecked off to City? And let's not forget he was shite in 08/09.

Yeah, let's not paint Tevez as some kind of saint. The guy was an idiot during his saga. You could understand why he wanted to leave and be the star somewhere else, but the way he went about it was far from cool.

There's a reason why Tevez is met by boos while Ronaldo will undoubtedly be met by applause from the majority at Old Trafford.

Still, Rooney, based on what Fergie says, is the über cnut. I can't wait to hear his explanation for wanting out.

 are you blind deaf and dumb or just a fanboi?

Well, if you don't already know, nothing I say will change your mind.

Give it a week, I'll come back and ask you the same question.

At this stage all we know is that he instructed his agent to tell the club he did not wish to sign a new contract and wanted to leave the club. That was back in August. He hasn't been in the papers saying he wants out. He hasn't been trash talking. He's continued to play (albeit badly) when asked to do so. He's still been training every day.

According to you lot he's been so obviously disrespectful that you can't even tell me what he's done wrong.

There's a difference between holding on, and being held to ransom.

Also, in this case, it seems there really isn't anyone to blame except the man who wants to leave.

Honestly, Ronnie is looking like a bit of a saint as compared to Rooney today.

Are you actually blind? Did you not see what he sent his agent out to say in the papers Monday? It backfired on him massively.

With Rooney wanting out, what sort of message does this send out to players like Nani, Berbatov, Anderson etc, that maybe the grass is greener on the otherside? Rooney is one player nobody thought would leave Man Utd, so for him to want out, how is this perceived by the players? Damn, I feel like shit right now.

Ferguson said that he wants Rooney to respect the club's traditions and that 'we'll see it through.'

Does that mean we'll let him walk for free?!

feck off.

I hate the Glazers but they've done nothing wrong in this whole situation. Rooney has been acting like a cnut. All this talk of he thought the club was in decline is all bollox, if he really thought like that, why did he said that he wanted a life contract in March.

Fergie seems very hurt from that interview...

True that. Loyalty counts for nothing nowadays. For one there's no gratefulness, respect shown by the supposed superstars of todays football. Just mercenaries, just like Wayne.

Really there's nothing much to say...

The later quote is legendery.

Ronaldo wanted to move to Madrid. No money in the world would have made him change his mind.

Tevez wasn't first choice and thus wanted to leave. Glazers not being there wouldn't suddenly have made Fergie rate Tevez higher.

Rooney, well feck knows what's going on with him.

Ronnie left with a lot of repect though, and has shown nothing but respect since. We always knew he'd want to go at some point, he never said he wanted to stay here for his career, Rooney did.

Michael Owen is a red, is a red is a red, Michael Owen ......

I think it's more of a case of you choosing not to see what he's done wrong. I would say...read any of the other threads, watch Fergie's interview for instance.
