MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

Is there anyway we'll know where he's definitely going before January?

How interesting. And yes. For the first time I found myself disagreeing with Keane. His comments yesterday were just plain dumb.

He's just a bitter cnut. feck sake. He has such a gripe with United. If I were playing under him I'd be quite offended by his reference to me as a piece of fecking meat.

Spastic

Just re-watched the interview. "Adamant" he wants to leave, Fergie said. Word for word.

All this fecking time. I hope the fans get right behind Fergie through and through on this one. feck that balding scouse twat.

Saf used the word adamant.Does not sound like a description of someone who's about to change there mind.

Well considering the next home game against Spurs (providing he's fit, -[providing he's even injured anyway]-) will be just after the Anti-Glazer march, and a late kick-off, I doubt those of us going are going to be in a very forgiving mood.

Unforgiving is going to be the understatement of the year.

I have a feeling he's going to barca

Might be an interesting swap arranged. Lets be honest, he's done feck all for us this season and he no longer wants to play for us. Even a less skilful player with the heart and passion for the jersey would be better than Rooney

I'm not saying that United had already done a deal, is that what you think?

I'm saying that it is entirely possible that Rooney and City/whoever have a deal in place. Now today could force the issue quicker, especially as now other clubs will be interested.

Oh I see, makes sense now! If that's the case then, SAF has played a blinder. So you think that city had a deal in place to get him on a Bosman? If that's the case and he has indeed been offered ridiculous terms by them, what's stopping Rooney and City from just sitting it out till the summer? Rooney can just turned down any other offer from any other club and I doubt that non will match the terms that city are offering!

I wouldn't be suprised to hear a rendition of "F*** Off Rooney, F*** Off Rooney" if he appears at the Spurs game. Of course its still a long way off.

The one thing I've noted about him in recent weeks - since the other scandal broke - he hasn't given a proper interview. Hasn't uttered a word to the press. Surely now he will have to talk to the media about his future?

He's going in January.

Thats now beyond question.

I've never known Fergie speak so candidly about a player and how a player wants to leave.

The situation is untenable now.

If his career at United was on the line before, its positively fecked now.

I think we will still have to support this guy untill he leaves as that will be backing th club. However like SAF said we just have to trust the club and hope we make the right decisions about this.

I think he will definatley be gone to City but we have to make a stamp on the world to show that we are still the flag ship and Manchester United is Manchester. I have no hard feelings for City the have the money and they'll abuse it but the least we can do if give them a good fight.

Yep, it's going to be fecking rocking.

I, for one, cannot wait.

I doubt you will get anything from Rooney. Not yet at least.

He will wait till he's out of United, settled in then he's going to let rip.

If it's City, I doubt they care about the Bosman.

However, one of the foreign clubs might well do. Problem with that theory, is surely Rooney's camp would know they are throwing that into jeopardy the moment they let everyone know he is unhappy?

For the right price, of course.

the situation is not beyond repair but SAF has played uniteds last card and its all down to Rooneys next move now

once he plays and the fans get a chance to air their views it'll be too late to back track imo however with the "injury" ruling him out of tomorrows game i'd say he's got until the weekend to come to the table

He's only extended the gap of class between himself and the player who once apparently had a father-son-esque relationship with him.
:wenger:

where do people keep getting this from? Just because SAF was like this with Ronaldo doesn't mean SAF was automatically like this with any of his other mercurial players. SAF never had that kind of relationship with Rooney.

I'd love to know what the club has possibly done to him...

I hope Fergie doesn't give him the easy option of being out the squad.

Leave the cnut on the bench.

feck me.. i doubt he will go to that low of a level. I mean, surely his time here means a thing?:nervous:

I'm not so sure about that. Ferguson has firmly bounced the ball into Rooney's court. He looks like a prick because of the cheating on his wife story. Now he looks like a prick because of his lack of respect for United and United's fans. If I was Rooney's sponsors I'd be looking for a serious turnaround in image and if money is what's motivating Rooney he may well have a road to Damacus moment quite soon.

Of course that is the big question, what on earth is motivating Rooney? Maybe even more scandalous personal revelations are about to break? It seems like he wants to run away from the life he up to last March?

That wasn't my question. I was wondering if there was anyway we could find out for definite WHERE he's going, as in what club, before January. Because as you said, he's definitely off.

Supposedly had to be stretchered off in training today and left on crutches. May not be fit to play for awhile and by that time the deal to sell him in January could already been done. You have to wonder how many more times he will play for United.

Indeed. My only hope is we can get a reasonable fee. This incident has reduced our bargaining power with potential buyers some what.

As far as I'm aware he can now speak to clubs with our permission, so probably as soon as a deal is struck (the last 6 months of the contract thing lets players speak to other sides without their club's permission)

Ah, okay - cheers. Could be sooner than we think then

How fecking convenient.

All the fans seem to be behind SAF, hell although the press will talk about a Utd decline, they seem to be on SAF's side and feel for him the way this saga has played out. Rooney has a lot of explaining to do...

Or he wants 500k a week and he knows there's only one place to get that, and doesn't mind fecking us over to do it?

Hes definately going. If Sir Alex really thought there was a chance to keep him he would have tried to motivate the fans to sing his name, support him etc. Instead he said it wasn't right they chanted for Rooney when the game was 2-2 on Saturday, not fair on the other players.

to think I respected him above every other United player, and defended him above all others.

Just proves that kissing the badge and all that shit was just a hollow gesture.

I actually wouldnt give a feck if he joined Liverpool.
