MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

Pulled a blinder Fred? Consider the fact that you are the only one who has been duped by this. Literally the only one.

When I say they've played a blinder, I mean to the average football fan on teh streets.

You know damn well the press and the opposition are going to come firmly out on Rooneys side now. So for a PR exercise he has pulled a blinder. He will have every neutral fan sat firmly saying "fair play to the lad.. what a hero.. coming out and speaking openly"

Ey?...What?..Why?

What world do you live in?...The ones I've spoken to already down here think he's a money grabbing cnut. Chels/Arse/Spurs fans...So where are you getting that opinion from? Your house?

You know the absolute worst thing about it.

He's fecking right.

Yes. But to think that he was determined to leave at the beginning of the season, when we'd beaten Chelsea and he could have had no real idea about how things were going to pan out. And still can't - none of us do.

It might make a tad more sense if he'd only decided in the past couple of weeks.

Well they're lapping it up on red issue as I imagine lots of stupid cnuts are. Job don't mr Stretford, sorry, Wayne.

feck off.

Exactly my point I am trying to make.

Job done by Stretford.

Has anyone on Red Issue asked why its taken the stupid cnut 5 years to work it out ?

Fergie pulled a blinder yesterday.. Rooney has just countered it.

The saving grace now is that the onus is on David Gill to respond, because Fergie and Rooney have clearly now both said there hasnt been a problem between the two of them. No one can blame Fergie for this.

I think you might be wrong there. Anyone I've spoken to is very surprised that he's such a mercenary twat. The point you don't see but most football fans (those who are concerned with the ball and 22 blokes) will is that he's left us up shit creek for no apparent reason. Even Ronaldo, the tabloid bad guy signed a contract and netted us 80m.

If we were without any major trophy for a 3 or 4 years and with no sign of getting better then I would believe him at saying we weren't ambitious enough, but now this is nothing more then pathetic way of trying to excuse himself for taking future offer from a club that will clearly overpay his services.

Assurances about the squads future?

He's not the brightest tool in the box sometimes, but the assurance of a squad hasn't changed that much from April where he said he'd be at the club for life. So using that as a reason is complete & utter bollocks and an easy way to gloss over that he wants some more money.

He obviously doesn't value his legacy at United enough to give a rat's ass. To him it's all about money and titles.

Pity his wife and kids.

You know what guys. feck WAYNE!

United will still be a club for decades to come. We shall support it till we die. Wayne Rooney would be around for what......10 years more. Then what?? Who knows maybe he would end up like FAT RONALDO:D in 5 years.

As long as that?

David Gill:lol::lol::lol:

Very interesting that David Gill said when they announced the unprecedented losses the other week that 'we don't have to sell Wayne Rooney'. Yet at that point he must have known that we were in fact going to do exactly that.

Was he preparing us in his 'debt is the road to ruin' way.

Maybe is is an anti-gimp agent after all

Well rooney has shamed him in public, he has nowhere to hide anymore.

Exactly!

So when in 2005 we won nothing, watched the scousers win the UCL, Chelsea the League and CC double, and us lose the FA cup to the Arse, and the following season we won the CC alone.......were we matching his ambition then I wonder?

Anyone who is trying to use Waynes lies as some sort of proof of their own twisted agenda should be ashamed of themselves. He wants more money and every man and their dog can see that now. Even most Liverpool fans are condemning him for his actions on top of just about everyone in football. There is no going back for him.

If he hadn't disrespected the club so much I would be inclined to give him his 'wish' with regards to trophies and let him fire Ole to the reserve title this year. After the way he's acted he doesn't even deserve a place there.

A famous quote suits this situation perfectly;

"They worship the ground you walk away from".

Rooney has never, and will never be bigger than the club. We existed before him and will exist long after he is a fat, alcoholic mess living in a council estate in Merseyside having wasted all his money that he gave up any sort of morals to obtain. I hope that Hernandez or the like can turn into what he should have become for us and this decision does not prove to be successful for him in any way. You threw it all away Wayne.

So two months into the season our most talented striker has decided his team aren't good enough for him and that, to quote that rumour from the England camp, that he carried us last year.

Somehow that would work better if Berbatov, Nani, Fletcher, Owen, Chicharito, Giggs hadn't scored more than him this season.

I don't care if he wanted us to buy Villa, I don't even care if he wanted us to buy Ozil. It's not just disrespectful to the players he won three Leagues and a CL with and who he got a League Cup with last year, it's insulting to the ones who are still improving like Nani, and the new ones we bought like Chicharito.

Pulled a blinder Fred? Consider the fact that you are the only one who has been duped by this. Literally the only one.

Freds an agenda poster, hes not been fooled by it its just exactly what he wanted to hear, perfect ammunition to attack everyone bar the man in question who's fault this is in its entirety.

No way Rooney thought of this hes way to simple, Stretfrods spent all day working on how to condone what is nothing other than greed and they've come up with a piece MUST would be proud of.

Anyone who for a second thinks this has anything to do with a lack of ambition is living in cloud cookoo land or is a wet knickered City fan trying to convince the world these players really do want to play for them besides the £££.

Oh and here we go, Duncan dildo on SKY within the hour of this statement breaking, whod have thought it.

Can we get special dispensation from FIFA to sell him right now?

feck that take the 5 or 10 million of him to buy out this contract and feck him off.
If any of us on here went to your boss and said I dont think this company is good enough for me to work in , what are you going to do about it?
How many would still be in a job ? I don't think many would

Pulled a blinder Fred? Consider the fact that you are the only one who has been duped by this. Literally the only one.

I give up..

If you cant see how clever a ploy this is by his agent I give up.

They could have gone for Fergie, labelled him as the reason for not wanting to stay.

Instead they've gone for David Gill, someone that we all know cannot be trusted to tell the truth.

On that score they've pulled a blinder. Why go for Fergie when they can get away with blaming Gill knowing that the vast majority of fans dont trust Gill.

Oh I know Rooney is fecking off for hte money, but what he's done is now labelled the blame firmly at the GLazers and the owners without anything being thrown at Fergie or the club at the same time.

Its a PR stroke of genius. Pass the blame onto someone who no one trusts anyway...

Also worth mentioning that Rooney is implying the current team isn't good enough to win the league, after consistently playing worse than any of them since the start of the season.

The fecking cheek of him demanding we sign better players when he can't even outperform a 20 year old Mexican in his first season in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, down in London, a young Spaniard has consistently been Arsenal's best player, despite being denied his dream move in the summer and Wenger failing to sign the new keeper every fecker on the planet knows they need to win the league.

Bang on Pogue!

I...but what he's done is now labelled the blame firmly at the GLazers and the owners without anything being thrown at Fergie or the club at the same time.

Its a PR stroke of genius. Pass the blame onto someone who no one trusts anyway...

Except he hasn't done that...Because everyone's still blaming him...EXCEPT FOR YOU...That's the point you're missing.

In this, and your assertion that your average fan will think he's a hero, you've shown how completely out of the loop of the average fan you are.

No way Rooney thought of this hes way to simple, Stretfrods spent all day working on how to condone what is nothing other than greed and they've come up with a piece MUST would be proud of.

You've just agreed with me you plank

They've pulled a blinder.

Put the onus on the club and keep Fergie and himself out of the firing line.

If we were without any major trophy for a 3 or 4 years and with no sign of getting better then I would believe him at saying we weren't ambitious enough, but now this is nothing more then pathetic way of trying to excuse himself for taking future offer from a club that will clearly overpay his services.
That's what I find strange as well. We didn't win the league last season. Ok, we're not going to win them all. We were unfortunate to get knocked out of the CL. Ok, things happen. If like you said, in 2 or 3 or 4 years, we're showing no signs of progress, then by all means he may have a point. To come out with this now though.....

The irony isn't lost on me fred that Rooney and his PR team have counted entirely on the desperation of people like you to think that. And yet you're calling me stupid

Everything he's just said contradicts his first offensive, which was to claim a breakdown with the manager, and an argument over an injury, and it contradicts his attitude only 6 months ago and the whole of last season whilst the G&G movement was more prominent and obvious than it is now and he was as happy as larry.

You've played right into the hands of Stretford et all. It's the intelligence of fans like you they're aiming at with that complete bollocks of a statement.

Well done. Thankfully most fans aren't as "intelligent" as you.

Damage limitation, I guess. Rooney and his camp looked very bad after the leaks they made to the media...which was compounded by Fergie's emotional press conference, yesterday. I'm sure most'll see through it. That said, it's possible he thinks we're lacking in ambition or can't compete for the best. The likes of Bebe, Obertan, Owen et al aren't exactly top quality. We'll just have to see what happens in the summer. My guess is Fergie knows the team needs strengthening. Whether he's got sufficient funds to put things right is another matter.

Did Drasdo just say it's proof of what Must have been saying all along?

fecking puppets! Of all things that prove the Glazers are wankers, this isn't one of them! It's being made to look like that by Rooney's people to stop there being such a huge backlash against Rooney.

Only suckers should fall for that one.

1) Fair comment. He's disrespected the players

2) No. What he's saying is true. But the stupid cnut has had 5 years to open his mouth and he's not done it. THis isnt suddenly shocking news. He's known all along the situation. Why now to bring it up.

If he's genuine about the lack of ambition then fine. Tell us what David Gill said and what it was about that, that you disagree with. What has changed now that wasnt the case 2 or 3 years ago when you signed your last deal.

3) Welcome to football.

What he's saying isn't true. It's been invented to play on the fears some fans have been voicing recently. The knee-jerk, worrying fans who think if a player has 1 bad game they need to be sold.

According to them, everything is doom and gloom, we're going down the shitter, we're the worst club ever... even though we were 1 point off winning an unprecedented 4 leagues in a row, were very, very unlucky not to progress further in the CL, and have recently won 3 leagues in a row and got to 2 CL finals, winning 1. Surely we can't be that bad?

Rooney, or more likely his agents (seeing as he's too stupid) have used this fear amongst our more temperamental fans to create an excuse for him wanting to leave because he can get hideous amounts of money somewhere else.

Lack of ambition? We're in October and we're 5 points off the top! That's not that big a gap, and we've got plenty to go. Fair enough, some players aren't in form at the moment, but they'll get it back. None of them are playing as bad as Rooney right now anyway.

This is sad. it's playing like a pantomime with every ABU having a laugh at our expense. Nothing would motivate me more to win the EPL and wipe that ugly smile off that Chav Rooney face.

Come on... I have a lot of time for the anti-Glazer movement, the G&G campaign and all, but this cockend leaving had nothing to do with it.

Can't see how anyone can buy into that statement full of delusion, disrespect, hypocrisy, stupidity, etc. Even a blind man can see that this one is about an ill advised, stupid cnut and his equally stupid advisors wanting to make some fast money.

Only a sucker has fallen for it.

Aint gonna happen this season though

Fergie made him look like a greedy, lying, ungrateful buffoon yesterday.

The only way the Rooney camp could have saved any face was to try and blame the Glazers and Gill who the fans hate anyway.

I am not buying any of it from that fat tramp.

Rooney officialy said he wants to leave

"I was interested to hear what Sir Alex has had to say yesterday, and surprised by some of it.
It is absolutley true, my agent and I have had a number of meetings with the club about a new contract.
During those meetings in August, I asked for assurances that the club continued to seek to attract the top players in the world.
I never had anything but complete respect for Manchester United football club.
How could I not have done, given its fantastic history, especially its last 6 years, which I've been lucky to play a part.
For me, it's always about winning trophies, as the club has always done under Sir Alex Ferguson, because of that, I think the questions I ask were justified.
However, when I met with David Gill last week, he did not give me any of the assurances I was seeking about the future squad. I then told him I would not be signing a new contract despite recent difficulties.
I know I will always owe Sir Alex a huge debt, he is a great manager and mentor who has helped and supported me from the day he signed me from Everton when I was 18.
For Manchester United's sake, I wish he could go on forever because he is a genius."

So everyone is 100% clear, every single word of the statement will have been scrutinized and debated by expert PR professionals who know aplenty on how to manipulate the press and footballing fans.

So dont expect much of the above to be true at all.

This is sad. it's playing like a pantomime with every ABU having a laugh at our expense. Nothing would motivate me more to win the EPL and wipe that ugly smile off that Chav Rooney face.

That's what ABUs are all about.Couldn't care less.

Should he even show up in training again after this statement? I know I wouldn't be too nice if a team-mate of mine said something like that.

Ronaldo a year after deciding to leave:

Rooney a few weeks after deciding to leave:

article-1321227-0BA4232B000005DC-402_468x286.jpg

We're two months into the season and he's deliberately made his position impossible, he can never play for us again, he's told us, the fans, to go feck ourselves. Can anyone think of anything comparable from a first choice player for any big team, ever?

I give up..

If you cant see how clever a ploy this is by his agent I give up.

It's not "genius". It's the most obvious and only choice left to him.

Did anyone expect him to say anything different? Christ, what else could he say without making himself look like even more of a tit? There was literally no other reason he could have given!

The content of statement is irrelevant. The timing of it - right before a CL game - is an absolute disgrace.

Genius? Pffft... You have low standards. Unless you think good public relations involves making yourself seem like a prick?
