If he stays, I reckon he goes in summer. I can't see us accepting him back after all of this.

Perhaps I've completely misinterpreted the entire situation, but I've felt our stance has been clear since the first press conference.

Edit: Signed - This feels so wrong. One things for sure, I can't respect Rooney again.

No we won't at all.

Look at the facts, statements released by the player, and statements released by the club.

The club have been firm. Sir Alex talked about history and his disappointment that Wayne was thinking of leaving. When asked about Rooney's statement, he talked about the clubs policies and history. He went on to say, in not so many words, that if he wanted to leave, he could, the grass is not always greener. They key theme in both United statements was: The door is still open, but only just.

Rooney's statement, the only one he has released, kissed a bit of arse. Talked about respecting the club and manager, citing the only reason for not signing was due to the meeting with David Gill (the content of that we still don't know).

There has nothing been said, in firm quotes from either side, which makes United look stupid in my opinion.

If Rooney stays, and this prompts the Glazers to take a firm look at their business model in relation to investment and spending, would this not be a bonus?

A massive bonus at that

Well...this drags out till the summer. To be honest I'm a little relieved, but I can see him leaving in the summer.

I dont understand what is going on 48hours ago he was leaving and that we was a shot club that was going now where?
Then he realeases that statement and he was made to look a right muppet.
OK he is staying , I will support him , but to be fair I hate what he has done and he is going to have to work very very hard to win over a lot of the fans.
