I really hope Fergie got him to sign the contract to ensure that we get a good fee when he fecks off, which hopefully is soon.
Thats the irony of it all.
Rooney - I am not signing because theres no money for players.
Gill - OK if I give you £50k a week more will that convince you
Rooney - Yeah OK. I am convinced. where do I sign.
Who have Chelsea signed that's top class? But how on earth can you prove that happened?
Without going through these pages and pages of utter shit from most of you, is there anybody here other than myself who thinks that the reasons Wayne gave for not wanting to stay the other day were genuine?
He's right in saying that we've not been showing enough ambition of late. Other clubs such as City, Spurs and Chelsea have continued to sign top quality players and since 2008 we've allowed these clubs to catch us (if not take over us) and it's worrying.
In my opinion Wayne has helped the club to realise that this week and i feel he's been promised that we'll be looking to invest in world-class talent and to carry on competing for major trophies.
By adopting the stance he did i think he showed he feels the same way as the anti-glazer section of our support do in that we're all worried about the lack of investment in the team itself. Wayne's behaviour this week has served to highlight how close our squad is to falling away from the top of the English game.
This was never about money. It was about the direction the club looked to be heading in.
It's a bit annoying how many fans are saying 'I hope those fans who derided him are feeling ashamed' and 'You're all hypocrites now'... all we did was react in the correct way to the amount of disrespect Rooney showed to us.
He treated the club, players, managers and us as fans as complete dirt. Nothing has changed now he's signed again, in fact, perhaps it makes it worse. Rooney led us all along, patronised and belittled players who are playing much better than him right now, and a manager infinitely more talented than him who has always tried to help him, and mocked the intelligence of fans ridiculously more intelligent than him.
I don't really care if he's signed again. Doubt I'll be able to cheer him again really. He's completely tainted. feck him. Well, actually, I won't.
But how on earth can you prove that happened?

Best news ever! Rooneys indecisiveness to sign can only be great for Man Utd as it will force the Glazers to spend a few quid on top players. I'm delighted as he is our only world class player and replacing him would have been hard.
Those who plan to boo him at the next game are out of order as he had every right to question the direction the club is going under the Glazers.
That to me shows how indispensible the club is to him, and that he is the kind that would jump first upon a sinking ship.

Put it this way, IF it IS £180,000 which is pure speculation at the moment, it's still £70,000 a week LESS than he was apparently going to get at City. So yes there is an element of 'if it was all about the money why has he just turned down more money from City to stay with United or more than his original but much less than his alternative offer from another club.'
You can't make the player before club people understand that.
Slag off your teammates, question the greatest manager of all time, then hop back on board expecting to be cheered on once you get your wages doubled.
Hooray!
why don't you also quote my argument for why I said that? eh? pathetic...
Like I said... the easy way out would have been for Rooney to leave the club in January. In stead he chose the difficult option... and he will know he's going to come in for for hammering from the fans. Remeber what happened last night in front of his house (where his wife and child were also staying... pathetic) and yet the next day he still put pen to paper. He's a much bigger man than you that's for sure.
Rio's consistent retardedly random updates is taking the edge off a bit.

I tell you what, If I had been in the situation that Rooney was in last night with those brainless twats, then I certainly would not have signed the extension the next day. Respect to Rooney for that.
where are these?
i've had to have two tramadol to take the edge off a bit myself!
Wouldn't surprise me if theres probably a clause in the contract saying if we don't win anything this year he can go!
Whats difficult about doing what the club wants until the summer when they've agreed to let you go, on better terms, to a team you actually want to play for?
So basically, you give it the big I am about wanting these greedy grasping Glazers out of our club. American investors treating the club like a business, pricing the real fans out, football becoming alien from the fans etc etc
But deep down, you're a FM transfer muppet who plays too much FIFA and thinks that the best thing anyone can do in any and every situation is splash loads of money on loads of players and that whenever we don't we're only a step away from complete decline and ruin.

That's just pure speculation. and even if it happens you could still argue that at least Rooney wanted to leave United in a financially better situation. It would have made a transfer much easier had he not signed an extension. Another bit of proof that he realy carse about the club. Anyone with half a brain can see that.
I'm going to go home and drown myself in green.
What an awful, awful week it's been.
