Funny how no one ever blamed Arsenal for being boring despite Mourinho's Chelsea outscoring them every season.
So they're back at the top of the table and look very solid. Thing with Mourinho teams is he usually sets them up so that they'll be hard to beat, his Chelsea and Inter sides almost never lost and conceded very few, so when they could get things going in the attack they'd batter the opposition - and when they couldn't, they'd go into a stalemate and wait for things to unfold, then either score or take a points.
That's because Arsenal sides were always easy to beat - and people don't think of sides like that in that way. It's worse when there's a side like Chelsea who were almost impossible to beat - once they scored you could be nearly certain that they won't drop any points. It's silly because you'd usually want your side to play that way.
They're third behind Valencia and Villarreal.

Well he's spot on, though I don't think people have actually doubted him, more just been a bit disappointed by the quality of football on display so far. He's already said he realises he'll have to play with style, but that will take time. He needs to sort out the defence first. Carvalho and Pepe look like they can make a very good partnership.

First game back for Barcelona after the break is Valencia at the Camp Nou. Huge game really, Valencia would be happy with a point I'd imagine but if Madrid were to win that weekend then they'd move top (If Villarreal don't win) and go 3 points clear of Barca.
It's been a good season so far, I'm glad the myth that 'nobody can take points of Barca and Real' is finally being laid to rest. Last season was an anomaly.
I would have thought that after watching Barca dominate for two years, Real fans would just want results rather than style for once.

The funny thing was last night Racing had gone out with a defensive masterplan to play 5 at the back - of course all it actually did was screw up their ability to handle through balls and run their offside trap.

Ronaldo sort of agrees - he says all 4 goals were handed to him by teammates.
Higuain played further forward though, so if Ronaldo was goalhanging I don't know what Higuain was doing. Mostly it was the fact that Madrid were playing about twice the speed of Racing - very fast on the attack and counterattack, and Ronaldo as the fastest and with the best positional sense was almost always first to the ball.
