Moyes So Far!

He's been too cautious with his team selections but I suppose that's understandable with the fixtures we've been given.

My concern with Moyes so far has been he's waited too long to make substitutions in matches and change things until it's too late and there's been no creativity at all in our attacks. We've been far too predictable this season, as this game has shown.

This is far worse than the 1-6 in terms of performance.

This could go down as one of the worst for many a year.

3-0 down, nothing to lose, you think he'd be a bit 'naughty' and adventurous... he puts on... Cleverly. How negative is he.

Seeing us can't keep the fecking ball, while still toothless in big games, that Yahoo - Google analogy always springs to mind.

Nani, Kagawa and Hernandez sitting on the bench. We deserve this. Performance and tactics have both been shite. Moyes needed to make 1-2 subs at half time, not bringing Cleverley on when we are fecking 4-0 down.

This is the worst performance I've seen from us in a very, very long time.

Awfully negative again and this time we have no excuse. Moyes doesn't look like a big club manager at all so far for me, it's early days but the pressure was always going to be mental in this job and he's not been up for it so far.

Moyes kind of needed this, big wake up call.

Absolutely. In the interviews pre-match he was looking as bothered as if he was going on vacation to the Bahamas for two weeks when he was talking about Robin Van Persie not starting today!!!! There's been no will to even challange City from us today and non of the players look even bothered about it. Young is NOT United quality and have to leave, no matter what the cost is. There are other players out there who could actually help our team. Just imagine what we would be like if we signed up Özil. We got ourselves in this situation by trying to play hard balls in the transfermarket - WHEN THERE ARE TEAMS OUT THERE WHO ARE WILLING TO PAY!!! fecking idiots.

Poor start from moyes, both in terms of results and tactical ideas. It's just been a bit boring and uninspiring.

We were a man down and still 3-1 behind after 90 minutes back then. We have a full team and haven't looked good at any point in this game, this is different world.

The performances have been the most disappointing aspect. In the 3 big games this season, we've created next to nothing. I can't remember us being so useless in attack.

Really tough for Moyes to be thrown into the fire with so many difficult matches right from the get go. This result right now is clearly the worst thing that can happen to him. He will be under enormous pressure from hereonforth.

Having said that, I don't think this result will have too much bearing on the title. If anything, it might actually help spur us on and provide a wakeup call.

It was a team set up to create nothing and stop City. That's bad, but the plan didn't even work. We're taking an absolute hammering.

What was it Petestorey and every other WUM said when we appointed him... The Evertonization of United has started... he's following the script completely so far.

Fellaini now used up front...

Actually I don't think this was a team set out to stop anything. We played with 2 upfront and 2 on the wings. We tried to attack but failed miserably. We also failed to retain any possession as a result.

4-4-2 may not be dead, but it certainly is not working in the big derbies where teams outnumber us in midfield.

Awful. It's not just the results it's the way we are playing. Tbh I can't see us in the top 4

This result could have a massive bearing on the season. In a literal sense, it's massive for goal difference. If nothing changes, it's an automatic swing of 8 goals between the two of us. Had we not lost 6-1 a couple of years ago, we may have come a lot closer to City on goal difference which of course won them the title.

While I'm sure we'll still challenge, it's a massive confidence dent for the team and heaps so much more pressure on Moyes when he's already under a lot of it. It will give City a massive boost as well and will make their team firmly believe that they're now favourites for the title this season.

While we've looked awful and I think we're going to have a hard time retaining the title at this rate, that's an overreaction. I'd still be very, very surprised if we don't make it into the top 4 this season.

To be fair Everton usually beat City.

Give him time. It's a hard job and he was never going to do that well, given the 'random' premier league fixture list.

City have been playing 4-4-2. Fernandinho/Toure in the middle, Nasri/Navas on the wings, and Aguero/Negredo up top. Their wingers and midfield are better, or at least not shit.

They played pretty much the same as us and also went with two strikers.. Aguero and Rooney are both similar at dropping in to help out the midfield, and Welbeck does it more than Negredo.

Wait weren't you desperate for us to sign Fellaini?

I feared storey would have a point about Moyes particularly as our main targets were Baines and Fellaini in the summer (realistic ones anyway). Also worried we'll struggle to finish in the top four if Young and Fellaini are both guaranteed first choice at the club and anything serious happens to Van Persie.

Given that Young was the first one off after their third I don't think we'll be seeing him in the first team for a while ... I hope

Fellaini should be played correctly in his position, Moyes panicked and used him as the cliched lump up front.

Think of all the cliches about Moyes by the average RAWK poster: boring, graft over skill, Fellaini deadline day and used as a striker, script has been followed to the letter so far... and those were WUMs or cnuts who didn't actually believe all they said would come to pass quite as precisely as this...

Moyes will be under a lot of pressure after this result. Probably the worst case scenario for us. However, im still backing him to come good and in the grand scheme of things this isn't catastrophic to our title ambitions. We have navigated an unprecedented tough opening schedule with rather poor results (2 losses). However, we can make this up as long as we can consistently beat the "lesser" sides in the next 5-10 matches or so.

A real shame the way we have played today though. You really have to question whether the team were up for it today. This result has a lot to do with energy and desire. We just looked devoid of any will to press or attack citeh.

I hope this serves as a wakeup call for Moyes and we look back on this moment in 6 months time as some sort of turning point. I still believe this team is good enough to win trophies. We have just started slow under a new Manager and hopefully we will right the ship.

What the feck is up with the doom and gloom in here? Losing a game and all of the sudden we're no longer top 4? You guys need to get a fecking grip.

4-0 down, haven't created a decent chance all game, better attackers on the bench, 74 minutes. No change.

So you haven't been worried at our flat tempo since the start of the season?

Given fellaini's overall performance, I don't think where he played really matters.
